SECOND leg, second straight crown for TNT?
The fancied Tropang Giga seek a repeat of their title win when Leg 2 of the PBA 3×3 Lakas Ng Tatlo second conference kicks off this Saturday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Behind the quartet of gunner Almond Vosotros, Samboy de Leon, Lervin Flores, and Mark Acuno, TNT held off gritty Meralco 21-19 in the final of the opening leg last Feb. 20.
The Mau Belen-mentored Tropang Giga will have their work cut out for them this time.
TNT has been grouped with San Miguel, Sista, and guest squads Pioneer and Master Sardines in Pool A.
The Bolts will play in Group B that also features Platinum Karaoke, Purefoods, and Terrafirma, all out to prove they are no pushovers.
Leg 1 third placer Ginebra banners Pool C along with defending grand champion Limitless App, NorthPort, and Cavitex.
The Tropang Giga square off with the Beermen at 8:25 in the morning after the opening game pitting the ProTibay and Super Sealers at 8 a.m.
Meralco clashes with the Dyip to open pool play at 8:50 a.m. in its bid to redeem itself from a numbing defeat in the quarterfinals in the inaugural conference’s grand finals.
The Kings begin pool action when they battle the Appmasters at 9:15 a.m. in a rematch of the first leg’s battle for third.
Ginebra downed Limitless 21-17 in the third-place match and pocketed P30,000 for its breakthrough podium finish behind an overhauled line-up that included Encho Serrano, Jayson David, Jollo Go, and Dennice Villamor.
Serrano and the Bolts’ Tonino Gonzaga shared top scoring honors after the first leg with 46 points each.
Limitless’ Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser was second with 45 markers, while maiden conference scoring champ Vosotros (44) and San Miguel new addition Ken Bono (39) ranked third and fourth, respectively.
