Pampanga Royce rips San Pedro

PAMPANGA Royce Hotel proved too strong for San Pedro Laguna ARS, scoring a runaway 99-57 victory last Wednesday night for its second straight win in the Pilipinas Super League Pro Division Second Conference Dumper Cup at the Central Recreational Facility in New Era, Quezon City.

Jolo Mendoza sizzled with 20 points spiked by six three-pointers, to go with five assists and two rebounds for Pampanga Royce, while Joshua Flores added 20 markers, six boards, and two dimes.

Kenneth Villapando and Zach Huang also had 17 and 14 points, respectively, for the Sandro Soriano-mentored Pampanga Royce side which sustained the fiery form it displayed in a 79-70 triumph over Boracay last Saturday and rose to 2-0.

The Warriors, coming off a 64-108 drubbing at the hands of defending champion Davao Occidental-Cocolife also last Saturday, absorbed their third straight loss for a 1-3 mark in the meet presented by Dumper party-list, Winzir, SCD Cosmetics, and Converge and supported by Wcube Solutions Inc., MDC, Unisol, Don Benitos, and Finn Cotton.

In the other game, Koponang Lakan ng Bulacan sent 1Munti crashing back to earth with a 72-61 win.

Jason Ballesteros notched a double-double of 18 points and 17 caroms to power Bulacan to a follow-up to a 67-65 decision over Sta. Rosa Laguna last Dec. 8 and moved to 2-1.

Leo Najorda also chipped in 13 and five as Bulacan handed the Emeralds a stern reality check after they trounced Quezon City 81-73 in their opener last Monday.

Ian Melecio was the lone bright spot for San Pedro Laguna ARS with 14 points and five rebounds.
