LED by big man Shawn Umali, Lyceum shoots for its fourth straight win when it battles San Sebastian College today in the 99th NCAA basketball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.
The Pirates stake their 3-0 mark against the Golden Stags at 4 p.m. after Perpetual Help and Arellano University try to crash the winner’s circle in the curtain-raiser at 2 o’clock.
“Against San Sebastian, we’re gonna treat them like we played Benilde, we played like Letran and like Perpetual. We’re gonna respect the game, we’re gonna respect who’s the opponent, kung sino makakalaban namin and we’re gonna prepare kung ano iyong prine-prepare namin,” Lyceum coach Gilbert Malabanan said after the Pirates’ 76-73 victory over the Altas last Saturday.
“So, same lang din, walang mababa, walang mataas, same lang kami ng preparation sa lahat,” he added.
San Sebastian will go into the duel armed with an 111-86 drubbing of the Chiefs.
The Pirates will rely on Umali, Enoch Valdez and Mclaude Guadana.
