LETRAN tries to stop its four-game slide when it battles San Sebastian College today in the resumption of second round play in the 100th NCAA men’s basketball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.
The Knights will go into the match set 11 a.m. hoping they could finally score their first win in the second round and improve their 6-6 card.
Clashing in the other game at 2:30 p.m. are Arellano University and Perpetual Help.
Expected to boost the Knights is the return of rookie Jimboy Estrada from his one-game suspension after incurring two technical fouls in the team’s battle with Perpetual Help last Oct. 13.
Last Friday, the Knights absorbed their fourth consecutive setback after yielding to the Cardinals of Mapua 78-86.
San Sebastian bowed to the EAC Generals last Saturday 94-101.
“Nasa bottom kami [ng standings], pangalawa sa baba kaya sabi nina coach kailangan naming Manalo. One game at a time, trabaho kami lagi,” said Arellano big man JL Capulong, who tallied a career-game 30 points and 16 rebounds over the Pirates.
Perpetual is still smarting from a 3-57 defeat to reigning champion San Beda three days ago.
