Import Justin Brownlee tallied a game-high 40 points, on top of 11 rebounds and five assists, while Scottie Thompson barely missed a triple-double with 19 markers, nine boards, and 11 dimes.

The Kings scored the win, which gave them a 3-2 lead, in front of 18,251 fans, mostly Ginebra supporters, an attendance that stood as the largest in the country during the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic.

Christian Standhardinger and LA Tenorio added 13 and 10 points, respectively, for the Kings, who came off a 95-84 win in Game 4 last Wednesday.

Ginebra seeks to close out the series in Game 6 on Wednesday also at the Big Dome.

“We did a great job of making shots all night. Just big shots the whole game,” Kings coach Tim Cone said.

“I didn’t think it was sustainable, but we were able to sustain it for 48 minutes,” he added.

Tony Bishop led Meralco with 30 points and 15 rebounds, while Chris Newsome, Aaron Black, and Allein Maliksi had 27, 25, and 12, respectively.
