NATIONAL University wound up dead last in the last UAAP cage wars.

With a new coach in Jeff Napa, the rebuilding Bulldogs got a big boost in their bid to reclaim lost glory.

Former Adamson High School standout and UAAP junior’s MVP Jake Figueroa has left the Soaring Falcons and joined NU.

The 6-foot-2 Figueroa led the Baby Falcons to the Final Four of the junior’s play last season and averaged 13.2 points on 49-percent shooting, to go with 14.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.4 blocks.

A native of Minalin, Pampanga, Figueroa will link up with the likes of new additions Jiam Quiambao and Jolo Manansala from La Salle Greenhills, and former Bullpups Reyland Torres, Steve Nash Enriquez, Karl Gloria, and PJ Palacielo.

In a shocking turn of events, NU high school standouts Carl Tamayo, Gerry Abadiano, and Kevin Quiambao left the school last year.

The 6-foot-7 Tamayo and 6-foot guard Abadiano transferred to University of the Philippines, while the 6-foot-8 Quiambao, a center, moved to La Salle.
