ALTHOUGH they are set to suit up as Asian imports in the Japan B. League, former University of the Philippines standouts and brothers Javi and Juan Gomez de Liaño said playing in the PBA remains very much part of their plans.
“I thought that the opportunity in Japan was really for the better and kami naman ni Javi we also both thought of playing in the PBA,” Juan said on Radyo5 92.3 News FM’s Power and Play program hosted by former PBA commissioner Noli Eala.
“Hopefully one day, makakarating rin kami diyan. We have a lot of idols there and we respect the league so much. We grew up in the Philippines and we grew up watching the PBA but as of now, the opportunity there was really a no-brainer for us,” he added.
For the older Javi, bringing his act overseas would certainly make him a better player.
“Just the fact that playing abroad with other people around the world, I think that would help me grow as a player,” Javi said.
