THE Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3 squad is not one to cry spilt milk after head trainer Aldin Ayo resigned and opted to take on the coaching job at Converge in the PBA.

The goal remains: qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

“We move on,” Chooks-to-Go president Ronald Mascariñas said. “We do not see it as a setback. We will continue to take good care of our players and give them everything they need as they continue their journey in the global FIBA 3×3 pro circuit.”

“We are not going anywhere,” he added.

Ayo bid the team goodbye10 days ago, citing the need to take care of his ailing mother who was diagnosed with stage four cancer.

But Ayo later chose to call the shots for the FiberXers, the pro league’s newest ballclub.

Mascariñas met with the players in the pool, namely, Mac Tallo, Zach Huang, Chico Lanete, Dennis Santos, Brandon Ramirez, Ken Holmqvist, Dave Ando, Mike Nzeusseu, and Henry Iloka over the weekend for a heart-to-heart talk.

Lanete has been named as the interim head trainer of the pool.

The team is continuously toughening up and saw action in the Lipik Challenger.

The country is set to host several FIBA 3×3 Super Quests, the Chooks-to-Go FIBA 3×3 Cebu Masters, and more international tourneys.

Mascariñas said he is looking to add more tall and skilled players, as well as assistants and a foreign consultant to help Lanete in his first foray in coaching.

“We are currently in the process of adding more players to our pool and giving coach Chico everything he needs as our leader,” he said.

“This will not stop us in our mission of gaining valuable FIBA 3×3 points for the country in hopes of making it to the Paris Olympics in 2024.”
