THE clock is ticking for Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3’s dream to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
That explains why Chooks-to-Go will hold an open tryout Tuesday next week at the Activate Hope Arena in Mandaluyong to recruit new players and boost its training pool.
“The real count for qualification for both the Paris Olympics and the Olympic qualifying tournament began last Nov. 1 and will end on Nov. 1, 2023,” Chooks-to-Go President Ronald Mascariñas said.
“With this and being the global partner of FIBA 3×3, we will be ramping up our efforts for the 2023 season and it will begin with our national tryouts,” he added.
The tryouts will be open to all Filipinos holding a Philippine passport. They must reserve their tryout slot by messaging their name, age, and height to 0966-473-6059.
Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas will not have a limit on their possible recruits from the tryouts.
“We need a huge pool for the 2023 FIBA 3×3 season,” head trainer Chico Lanete said. “For the players, this is their chance to represent the country, travel the world, and also earn from basketball.”
Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3 is out to find the best players for flag and country.
The players chosen will be part of the pool that will make up the Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3 teams and will see action in the next year’s FIBA 3×3 season.
