LAUREN Betts scored 33 points and No. 1 UCLA stayed undefeated by handling No. 8 Maryland 82-67 on Sunday afternoon (Monday in Manila) in College Park, Maryland.
Betts shot 14-for-15 from the field and made five of six free-throw attempts to go with a team-high seven rebounds. Kiki Rice added 19 points for the Bruins (20-0, 8-0 Big Ten), who shot 54.5 percent from the field to help overcome 17 turnovers.
Maryland (16-4, 6-3), which has lost three games in a row, had 18 turnovers. Saylor Poffenbarger providing a team-high 18 points, Mir McLean posted 12 points off the bench and Sarah Te-Biasu and KayleneSmikle both had 11 points for the Terrapins, who were in their fourth consecutive game against a ranked opponent.
UCLA led 39-34 at halftime before stretching the margin to 17 points at the end of the third quarter.

Flau’Jae Johnson tallied 22 points and Aneesah Morrow finished with 19 points as the Tigers pulled away from the Aggies in Baton Rouge, La.
LSU (21-1, 6-1 SEC), which responded from Friday’s 66-56 loss in a rescheduled game at second-ranked South Carolina, held on despite ending up 3-for-20 on 3-point attempts. The team’s starters were a combined 0-for-9 from beyond the arc.
Taliyah Parker came off the bench to score 13 points for Texas A&M (10-9, 3-4). AichaCoulibaly had 12 points and Sole Williams provided 10 points. LSU led 44-38 going to the fourth quarter and 48-46 after Williams’ 3-pointer with less than seven minutes to play, but the Tigers responded with a 12-3 run.
