ECOOIL-LA SALLE nearly paid a dear price for looking past Centro Escolar University the last time out.
The Green Archers cannot afford to put their feet off the pedal anew, according to coach Derrick Pumaren.
“We cannot be like that (again). We cannot underestimate teams and take any team for granted here,” Pumaren said after his team pulled off a 76-65 victory over the Scorpions last Friday.
“We have to be competitive and that’s the thing that we should not do against San Sebastian,” he added.
Apex Fuel-San Sebastian counterpart Egay Macaraya has challenged the Golden Stags to step up against their opponents’ formidable frontline.
“It’s going to be a learning process for them,” Macaraya said. “Malaki ang magiging kalaban namin at ito iyong mga challenge na inihahanda namin para sa mga big men namin.”
EcoOil-La Salle takes on Apex Fuel-San Sebastian today for a piece of second in the PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
