ADAMSON High School coach Mike Fermin was left pondering what went wrong in his troops’ 74-85 loss to Far Eastern University-Diliman in the Big Dance’s opener three days ago.
“Hat’s off to FEU, they played well in the second half, kami first half lang,” Fermin said. “Ang sabi ko nga noong halftime, nobody wins a game in the first half.
“Paglabas namin ng halftime, hindi ko alam iyong nangyari. Hopefully in Game 2, we can turn things around,” he added.
The Baby Tamaraws seek the crown when they tangle with the Baby Falcons today in Game 2 of their best-of-3 finals duel in the 85th UAAP juniors’ basketball tournament crown at The Arena in San Juan.
The match is set at 4 p.m. after the league holds its awarding ceremonies where Reinhard Jumamoy of Nazareth School of National University is set to be named season MVP.
The Mythical Five will be composed of Ateneo’s Kristian Porter, La Salle Zobel’s Rhyle Melencio, University of the Philippines Integrated School’s Kobe Demisana, FEU-D’s Johnrey Pasaol, and Jumamoy.
Daryl Valdeavilla of the Junior Fighting Maroons will be named as Rookie of the Year.
A deciding third game, if needed, will be played Tuesday next week, March 21, at the same venue.
