THE undermanned Philippine Azkals absorbed a 0-2 loss to host Singapore at the close of the FAS Tri-Nation Series last Tuesday night at the Singapore National Stadium.
The Filipino booters were reduced to 10 men in the first half after Filipino-Spanish defender Diego Bardanca was sent off the pitch in the 39th minute, being slapped two yellow cards after committing hard fouls on Singapore’s Amy Recha and Hariss Harun in a span of three minutes.
The loss was the team’s second setback in six days. The Azkals also absorbed a 0-2 defeat at the hands of Malaysia last March 30 in the three-nation series organized by the Football Authority of Singapore as a tune-up for the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers in June.
