ATENEO tries to wrap up the title when it battles Adamson University today in Game 2 of their best-of-3 finals duel in the V-League Women’s Collegiate Challenge at the Paco Arena.

The Blue Eagles aim to get the job done against the Lady Falcons in the much-anticipated collision at 5:30 p.m.

Ateneo survived a thrilling five-set clash against Adamson in the series opener 20-25, 25-21, 25-22, 24-26, 18-16 last Sunday.

“Well, iyon ang dapat naming aralin, closing out games. Starting well and closing out. As you can see, we started wrong tapos at the middle parang mali but luckily, we ended it right. But important is, we learn from these mistakes, pataasin pa iyong character,” Eagles coach Oliver Almadro said.

“We should play according to the level of the tournament, mataas iyong level ng Adamson. We have to equalize it and higitan pa namin and of course iyong skills,” he added.

In men’s play, National University also goes for the kill against University of Santo Tomas in Game 2 at 2:30.

The Bulldogs barely broke a sweat three days ago in Game 1 with a 25-19, 25-21, 25-19 whipping of the Tiger Spikers.

“Importante, agresibo kami. Pagtatrabahuhan pa rin namin sa practice at tuloy-tuloy pa rin ang ginagawa naming,” NU tactician Dante Alinsunurin said.

The Bulldogs will rely on Nico Almendras, Mike Buddin, Kennry Malinis and Joshua Retamar.

Josh Ybanez, Jay Dela Noche, Rey De Vega and Rainier Flor will lead UST.

The Katipunan-based squad is expected to bank on Faith Nisperos, Vanie Gandler, AC Miner, Lyann De Guzman, Takako Fujimoto, and Joan Narit.

The Lady Falcons will pin their hopes on Louie Romero, Trisha Tubu, Riza Cruz, Lorene Toring, Lucille Almonte and Kate Santiago.
