AFTER losing its first three matches, defending champion Ateneo finally saw the light at the end of the tunnel yesterday.
The Blue Eagles barely broke a sweat and ripped Far Eastern University 25-16, 25-14, 25-14 for their first win in the 84th UAAP women’s volleyball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.
Faith Nisperos pumped in 14 points off 11 attacks, two service aces, and a block for Ateneo, while Lyann De Guzman chipped in 12 markers on nine attacks.

The Lady Tamaraws, coming off a 19-25, 25-15, 25-20, 17-25, 15-10 victory over University of the East, dropped to 1-3.
In the first game, National University whipped UE 25-11, 25-20, 25-13 for its fourth straight win.
