THE Association of Boxing Alliances in the Philippines is considering the cost of fielding the national boxing team to the rescheduled Asian Elite Men and Women Boxing Championships now scheduled from May 21 to June 1 in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.

In a statement, ABAP said the Asian Boxing Confederation announced the change in venue and date late Tuesday due to the overwhelming rise of COVID-19 cases in India, including the capital of New Delhi where the competition was originally supposed to be held.

ABAP President Ricky Vargas told ABAP Secretary General Ed Picson to study the issue of fielding the entire team “considering the adjustment, both logistical and financial that the change entails.
