WITH a coveted finals slot on the line, Arellano University bet Carl Jaedrianne Ancheta made sure he had the last laugh on Monday.
The Chief’s chess bet beat College of St. Benilde’s Adrian Othniel Yulo in their semifinal duel in the 96th NCAA season senior’s online chess tournament.
With the win, Ancheta advanced to the final where he will clash with either Lyceum’s Neymark Digno or Perpetual Help’s Carl Zirex Sato.
The country’s oldest collegiate league plodded on with its new season with online events, with the basketball and volleyball tournaments getting cancelled.
Among the options the NCAA considered was holding its season in a bubble at the Inspire Sports Academy in Calamba, Laguna
