Ardina left to carry the fight

FORMER golf prodigy Dottie Ardina was left to carry to cudgels for the country in the Shoprite LPGA Classic presented by Acer yesterday after shooting 70 for a crowded 14-way tie for 37th entering the final round at the Seaview Bay Course in Galloway, New Jersey.

Ardina, who shot a 68 in the first round, had four birdies against two bogeys over the par-71, 6,190-yard layout to survive the cut in the 54-hole competition offering a top prize of $262,500 (roughly P15.4 million).

She stood six strokes behind pacesetting South Korean Jenny Shin, who checked in with a 69 for 132 and held and held a one-shot lead over Sweden’s Albane Valenzuela (65-133).
