DOTTIE Ardina fired an even par 72 yesterday (Saturday in the US) and emerged tied for 50th place with 10 others, including former compatriot Yuka Saso, in the third round of the Kroger City Queen Championship at the Kenwood Country Club Kendale course in Cincinnati, Ohio.

After shooting a bogey-free 67 in the second round, Ardina cooled off and had two birdies against the same number of bogeys over the par-72, 6,551-yard layout located in the headquarters of American consumer giant Procter and Gamble.

Ardina and 2021 US Women’s Open champion Saso, who had a 71, were 13 shots behind six-year American LPGA tour veteran Ally Ewing, who carded a 67 for 200 and clung to a slim one-shot lead over Mexican Maria Fassi. — Bong Pedralvez
