DEFENDING champion La Salle is leaving no stone unturned in its title-retention bid in the 87th UAAP basketball tournament set to start in September.

Green Archers coach Topex Robinson said his wards will use their stint in the World University Basketball Series in Japan to good use.

“We’ll be leaving for Japan in the first week of August so that’s gonna be, I guess, our final out-of-town tournament heading into the 87th season,” Robinson said.  “It’s gonna be a big tournament. Korea, Japan, and China are gonna be there so it’s gonna be something that we are really looking forward to seeing.

“How our new guys that’s gonna show up in that kind of competition because it’s really gonna be a big competition for us so it’s gonna be something that we’re looking forward to.”

La Salle propped up its preparations for the new cage wars by seeing action in several pre-season tilts, with the Archers ruling the Pinoyliga Collegiate Cup.
