JERWIN Ancajas tries to regain his International Boxing Federation super flyweight crown from undefeated Argentine tormentor Fernando Daniel Martinez when they slug it out this Sunday (Saturday in the US) at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson City, California
Although favored, the Filipino “Pretty Boy” lost his title to Martinez, who fashioned a unanimous decision win last Feb. 26 at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas Hotel in the American gambling mecca.
After exercising the rematch clause in their last encounter, Ancajas, who sports a record of 33 wins, spiked by 22 knockouts, against two losses, will be keen on exacting revenge on Martinez, who is unbeaten in 14 fights (eight KOs).
Sharing the limelight in the card promoted by Premier Boxing Champions and to be aired on cable network Showtime is Tokyo Olympic Games bronze medalist Eumir Felix Marcial, who will be eyeing his third pro win when he battles American journeyman Steven Pichardo in a four-round match.
Marcial is out to score an impressive win against Pichardo, who has a record of eight wins (two KOs), two losses and one draw, after being knocked down in his last fight before recovering to stop American Isiah Hart in the fourth round of scheduled six-rounder last April 9 at the Virgins Hotel in Las Vegas.
