ADAMSON University trounced University of the East 25-19, 25-19, 26-28, 29-27 yesterday to get back on track in the 86th UAAP women’s volleyball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.

It was a booming debut for transferee Barbie Jamili, who was not fielded in the first three matches, as the Lady Falcons rediscovered their winning ways,

Jamili unloaded 20 points on 18 attacks and two blocks along with 12 digs and six excellent receptions.

But it was middle blockers May Ann Nuique and Jen Villegas who made the much-needed hits in the fourth to finish the match for the Lady Falcons and hike their record to 2-2 for solo fifth.

The Lady Warriors threatened to force a decider after a costly rotational fault by the Lady Falcons to reach set point at 27-26.

Kayce Balingit returned the favor with an attack that went wide for another deadlock before Nuique’s running spike went off-the-block followed by Villegas’ service ace for the victory.
