FOREGOING an early Christmas vacation, seven members of the national karate team led by 2019 Southeast Asian Games gold medalists Jamie Lim and Junna Tsukii leave this Friday to see action in the 17th Senior Asian Karate Championships set Dec. 19 to 22 in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Karate chief Ricky Lim said aside from Lim and Tsukii, the other karatekas who will compete in the four-day tournament are Ivan Agustin, Alwin Batican, Ernico Vasquez, Sakura Alforte and Remon Misu.
Kumite (sparring) bets Lim and Tsukii will fight in the women’s minus 61kg and minutes 50kg. divisions, respectively, while newcomer Remon Misu will compete in the women’s minus 55kg. category.
