FOUR players who were with the Filipinas in their two-match series against South Korea early this month are among the 30 players called up by Australian coach Siniza Cohadzic, who will form the Philippine Under-17 squad for the AFC Women’s Under-17 Asian Championships in Bali, Indonesia in May.
Goalkeeper Gabrielle Baker, defender Aiselyn Sia, midfielder Alexa Pino and forward Nina Mathelus were exposed to the national women’s team environment and are tipped to use that experience in boosting the bid of the Young Filipinas in the Bali meet where three slots to the FIFA Women’s Under-17 World Cup are at stake.
Also among those named to the pool in a post on the national women’s football team’s Facebook account yesterday were goalies Leah Bradley, Samantha Hughes, Brooke Solis and Xoey Tamparong.
The other defenders called up were Geline Dizon, Olivia Francis, Ariana Markey, Anna Medalla, Caidy Nelson, Luna Rivera, Aiselyn Sia, Jelena Soon, Ushin Valencia and Lauren Villasin.
The midfielders are Isabella Alamo, Francesa Alberto, Rhiuna dela Calzada, Kendyl King, Shien Payag, Tea Pidding, Sophia Saludares and Ava Villapando.
The other forwards are Kieran Bradley, Natalie Collins, Louraine Evangelista, Jael Marie Guy and Isabella Preston.
