The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) continues to advance its mission of ensuring that gaming remains safe, ethical, and socially responsible. Earlier this year, PCSO held a strategic meeting at its Main Office in Mandaluyong City to reinforce its Responsible Gaming (RG) Level 2 framework. Led by General Manager Melquiades Robles and chaired by Atty. Lyssa Grace S. Pagano, Assistant General Manager for Gaming, Product Development, and Marketing, the session focused on enhancing public education and awareness on responsible gaming practices. Key initiatives include:
- Expanding educational campaigns on safe responsible play
- Strengthening partnerships with suppliers and media networks
- Highlighting how lottery revenues directly fund healthcare, education, and charitable programs nationwide.
On March 10, 2025, PCSO took a major step forward by launching its inaugural Responsible Gaming Awareness Day at its Main Office Conservatory Building. With the theme “Play Smart, Play Safe,” the event reaffirmed the agency’s dedication to maintaining a secure and socially beneficial gaming environment. Activities included public display of RG messages, nationwide social media campaigns (#PlaySafePlaySmart, #ResponsibleGaming), specialized employee training, and widespread information drives. In his keynote address, GM Robles emphasized that “gaming is about people-not just numbers and luck,” underscoring PCSO’s people-centered approach to responsible gaming.
Furthering its advocacy, PCSO hosted the Agents’ Summit on May 13, 2025, at the newly inaugurated Foro de Intramuros in Manila. The summit brought together over 500 Lotto and Small Town Lottery (STL) agents from across the country to highlight their critical rode in promoting responsible gaming. Discussions covered strategies to combat illegal gambling, uphold fair play, modernize lottery operations through digital platforms, and strengthen collaboration between agents and PCSO leadership. The event reinforced the collective responsibility of agents and the organization in safeguarding players and ensuring transparency.
