The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) has ramped up its Corporate Social Responsibility efforts in the first half of 2025, pursuing initiatives that strengthen communities while advancing sustainable development goals.
The PCCI Fun Run for a Cause 2025, organized by the New Marikina chapter, stood out as a prime example of the chamber’s community-centered approach. Beyond promoting health and wellness, the event generated funds for local projects, showcasing how business networks can drive grassroots social impact. The same chapter has maintained its environmental focus through annual bamboo planting activities with the Department of Trade and Industry – National Capital Region Office (DTI-NCRO), timed to coincide with Philippine Bamboo Month and World Bamboo Day. These efforts advance both environmental sustainability and community awareness of ecological issues.
PCCI has also expanded its reach through strategic partnerships that create economic and social value. The recent partnership agreement with Abang J Malaysia opens new avenues for cross-border cooperation, benefiting local entrepreneurs through enhanced trade opportunities and cultural exchange. This collaboration reflects PCCI’s broader commitment to inclusive growth through international engagement.
The chamber’s support for micro, small, and medium enterprises remains a cornerstone of its CSR strategy. The National Forum on Strengthening MSME Disaster Resilience 2025, set for July 17 in Clark, Pampanga, addresses a critical need in the Philippines’ disaster-prone environment. By equipping smaller businesses with resilience tools and recovery strategies, PCCI tackles both economic vulnerability and social responsibility.
These diverse initiatives—from health promotion and environmental conservation to international partnerships and business capacity-building—demonstrate how chambers of commerce can leverage their networks for meaningful social impact. PCCI’s first-half activities reveal a comprehensive approach to corporate responsibility that balances economic development with environmental and social stewardship, building the foundation for more resilient communities nationwide.
