Following the riveting rivalry between two sisters, GMA’s hit afternoon series “Nagbabagang Luha” airs its much-awaited finale this Saturday, October 23.

In its finale, Mercy (Jaclyn Jose), Maita (Glaiza de Castro) and Cielo’s (Claire Castro) estranged mother, returns and reveals to her daughters the reason why she left them. With Sherwin (Royce Cabrera) still on the loose, Calida (Gina Alajar) plans to flee the country with Maita and Alex (Rayver Cruz). Meanwhile, Alex and Bien (Mike Tan) are still on a mission to put Sherwin behind bars, because of Sherwin and Cielo’s efforts to take revenge on the Montaire family.

As the series draws to a close, veteran actress and director Gina Alajar reveals what she will miss the most about the show. “I will miss the location, the resort I own, ‘yung Montaire Resort. Kasi it is so peaceful there. I enjoyed every moment that I was there. Of course, I will miss my son Alex, kasi I felt na parang anak ko talaga siya whenever we have our scenes together.”

Glaiza, on the other hand, shares her unforgettable moments while filming the series, “Unforgettable moments ‘yung rest days namin kasi doon ko nakikita ‘yung other side ng co-actors and production staff namin. ‘Yung goofy-relaxed personas nila. ‘Yung times na nagkukwentuhan lang kami tungkol sa buhay, tuwing kumakain at nagwo-work out.”

Asked what kind of ending he will write for the series, Rayver says he agrees with how the show ends but is wishing for a sequel. “The ending is really perfect for me. I would write siguro na magkaroon ng sequel or book 2 instead, feeling ko okay rin ‘yun.”

Claire, who is being praised for her performance in her first major role, thinks the series’ most important lessons are love and forgiveness. “I think everyone can learn about unconditional and conditional love. Forgiveness as well, and when it’s ok not to forgive.”

The director of the series, Ricky Davao, also puts in his two cents on the values that viewers can learn from watching the show. “Family. The importance of family and loving each other. Again, all the characters went through their own hardships, were broken at one point, but they were able to pull through by helping each other. We had a positive and hopeful ending.”

“Nagbabagang Luha” airs its finale this Saturday, 2:30 p.m. on GMA.
