She sings, composes, dances, directs her music videos, and now, she’s ready to show her talent in acting.
Jayda Avanzano, the only child of singer Dingdong Avanzano and singer-actress Jessa Zaragosa, will soon be invading the screens.
Jayda was officially welcomed by her new management team, Rise Artists Studio and Star Magic, in a Zoom press con yesterday.
At the virtual meet, she revealed her excitement about her first major concert and revealed her preference for taking it slow when it comes to acting. She says its rom-com that she wants to try first, and among the artists she wants to work with is Aga Muhlach, noting that the actor looks a lot like her dad, Dingdong.
Jayda also talked about “M.U.,” her latest single which she sang and composed. The multi-hypenate star also shot the music video that stars one of her closest friends in showbiz, Francine Diaz.
She said “M.U.,” which means “mutual understanding” is akin to having a relationship with no labels, that’s why it may also mean “malabong usapan.” She wrote the song after one conversation with Francine discussing how complicated “M.U.” can be.
“I got my light-bulb moment after that,” she said.
“’M.U.’ is about knowing what you want, what you deserve, knowing your worth and what you DON’T want in a relationship. It’s all about wanting clarity,” she also said.
The pop-infused track is a new writing collaboration between Jayda and her dad, Dingdong, whom she also worked with for her “Paano Kung Naging Tayo?” single which was released last February. She also co-produced “M.U.” with ABS-CBN Music creative director Jonathan Manalo.
Meanwhile, the music video for the self-empowering track featuring Francine was released last May 17. Jayda co-directed it with Edrex Clyde Sanchez. The multifaceted artist previously made her directorial debut for the music video of “Paano Kung Naging Tayo?,” which featured former “Pinoy Big Brother: Otso” housemate Rhys Miguel.
Aside from making music, Jayda is busy preparing for her first-ever major concert on June 26, Saturday. The show will also be shown the next day, June 27 via KTX.ph, iWanTTFC, and TFC IPTV.
