JOSHUA Garcia is reunited with former girlfriend Julia Barretto in “Block Z.” It’s sad that as the movie opens tomorrow, he is now being linked to Janella Salvador, his partner in “Killer Bride,” just when the series has ended on air. So you can’t say the stories of his being sweet to Janella is part of the promo for their TV show as it has already been terminated.

And for sure, all the publicity he’s getting with Janella won’t be of help to his movie with Julia. What’s happening is that his rumored romance with Janella is now getting more mileage than his movie with Julia.

Photos of Joshua with Julia being sweet to each other are going viral on social media and it looks like there’s truth to the rumor they’re now making beautiful music with each other. It is said Maja Salvador, their co-star in “Killer Bride,” was the one who acted as matchmaker and pushed for their romantic relationship. It was Maja who posted on social media the many sweet video clips of Joshua and Janella during the thanksgiving party of “Killer Bride.”

Julia Barretto allegedly erased all previous photos of Joshua in her Instagram account and also unfollowed him and Janella because she feels offended he is sweet with Janella when they have a movie together.

JC Santos did several movies and TV shows last year and he was also paired with different co-stars like Arci Muñoz in the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino drama, “Open”; Jane Oineza in the Cinema One rom-com, “Tayo Muna Habang Hindi Pa Tayo,” and in the mini-series “Project Feb. 14”; and Angelica Panganiban in the iWant mini-series, “Don’t Call Me Tita.”

He also did “Babae at Baril” with Janine Gutierrez, “Sunod” with Carmina Villaroel and he was part of the cast of the mammoth hit, “Miracle in Cell No. 7” playing the role of Mambo.

He has likewise finished an international film, “Motel Acacia.”

Now, he is reunited with Bela Padilla in the “hugot” romantic drama, “On Vodka, Beers and Regrets.” They have previously done two hits, “100 Tula Para Kay Stella” and “The Day After Valentine,” both directed by JP Laxamana and both entries in the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino. This time, the director is Irene Villamor, who directed Bela twice before, in “Camp Sawi” and “Meet Me in St. Gallen.”

“It was Bela who sent me a copy of the script written by Direk Irene, saying ‘Baka gusto mong gawin ito’,” JC recounted. “When I read the script, sobrang ganda. But I told Bela na kahit sampung movies pa ang gawin namin, basta kami ang magkapareha, game ako.

Gamay na gamay na kasi namin ni Bela ang isa’t isa, so everything is easy. We enjoy supporting each other sa mga eksena. Nagtutulungan talaga kami para mas mapaganda ang trabaho ng isa’t isa. Some people say love team kami, but we’re not the usual love team kasi ‘yung tandem namin, never pang nagkatuluyan. Sa ending, laging parang may sugat, masakit. Pero binabalik-balikan.”

In “On Vodka, Beers, and Regrets,” JC is Francis, the vocalist of a band who meets Jane (Bela), a washed-up actress.

“Nalaos siya and drowns everything with alcohol. At dun ako sa point na ‘yun dumating sa buhay niya. I will try to help her recover, pero napakahirap ng proceso kasi alcoholic na siya,” said JC.

James Reid and Nadine Lustre have finally declared that they’ve split up after vehemently denying it. They made a joint statement saying: “It’s true that we have split up, but not for all the reasons that are being spread on the tabloids and social media, but because after quiet and mature conversations, we decided to focus on ourselves not only for our careers but more for our personal growth as we are still young and we want to achieve as much as we can.”

This would negate current reports that Nadine got jealous because James was seen in a video kissing Issa Pressman, Yassi‘s sister. They add that they’re in good terms and Nadine says James will always have a special place in her heart.

They thanked their fans for their support and said they hope their fans would continue to support their individual careers. Nadine has since left the house in Quezon City where they’ve been living in for two years and moved to her own condo unit in Makati.

The careers of both James and Nadine are currently down in the gutter. Last year, James only had one show, “Idol PH,” where he sat as one of the judges. Nadine had two movies, which both flopped, last year. She made the wrong decision when she rejected “Miracle in Cell No. 7,” which turned out to be the top grosser in the last Metro Manila Film Festival. If she did it, then she would have been a part of a monster hit.

Between them, James seems to have a brighter future as he has an upcoming series, “Soul Mate,” with Korean star Nancy of Momoland. If it becomes a hit, then that bodes well for James. As for Nadine, it has already been proven that viewers do not really care when she’s paired with other actors, so what would she do now?

Barbie Forteza was introduced in the press con of “Anak ni Waray vs. Anak ni Biday” as the “Kapuso Primetime Princess.” How does she feel about it?

“Grabe no?” she says with a laugh. “Talaga ba? Baka may kumontra, hindi po sa’kin galing ‘yan ha. Sa kanila po. Basta I’m sobrang grateful to my network who has been taking good care of me for ten years now. Gusto ko lang magpasalamat nang maraming-marami for all their love, trust and continuous support. But siempre, may pressure din, kasi hindi biro mabigyan ng ganyang title.”

And this is the second time she’s being pitted against “Ang Probinsyano” after “Kara Mia.”

“Opo nga. Round 2 na. Wala naman pong problema sa’kin. I just consider it as a new challenge for me to do better than before. I think any kind of competition is good kasi it serves as an inspiration that will motivate you to strive harder. So bring it on. Ang panalangin na lang namin, magustuhan sana ng viewers at panoorin nila ang ‘Anak ni Waray vs. Anak ni Biday’ kasi hindi lang ito basta comedy, kundi may drama rin, ipinapakita ang magagandang tanawin sa Leyte at sa Ilocos, and it also offers good insights about family values kaya masisiyahan talaga sila.”
