‘I will forever stand up and protect my wife,’ says Matteo

THE Sarah Geronimo-Matteo Guidicelli wedding did take place but it’s not the grand wedding envisioned by their fans. Instead, it’s a no frills Christian wedding held at the Victory Fort Bonifacio, a hush-hush affair as not even Sarah’s parents knew about it. But a personal security assigned to Sarah squealed to her mom, Divine Geronimo, who rushed to the venue to talk to Sarah.

It’s common knowledge Sarah’s parents are against Matteo (and all the other actors linked to her before) and Mommy Divine wanted to convince Sarah not to push through with the wedding. Most folks, though, think it’s about time her parents let go of Sarah as she has served their family for so long. She got them their own house and was able to send her siblings to college, even abroad.

Meanwhile, Matteo posted on Instagram the married couple’s first photo. He wrote in the caption: “02 20 2020 A day full of pure love, honesty and genuine emotions. Yes, we got married. Mr. and Mrs. Guidicelli.

He went on to say how happy they are and cited “private matters” for keeping the wedding hush-hush. “We would like to express the overwhelming joy, love and excitement we have in beginning our life together. We decided to keep everything as intimate as possible because of private matters.”

He also acknowledged those who have thrown their support behind the union, including “everyone on social media” as “a source of inspiration, strength, and most importantly, of LOVE.”

He was firm in his denial about the report that he punched the bodyguard of Sarah. News of the secret wedding spread after Jerry Tamara, Sarah’s bodyguard, filed a police report in Taguig and went public in Raffy Tulfo’s program on Monday demanding that Matteo admit that he landed a blow on Tamara’s neck during an altercation that happened during the wedding reception at Shangri-La at the Fort.

“That evening was almost perfect until some unexpected events took place, but don’t worry I never ‘punched’ anyone. I will forever stand up and protect my wife just as how my father would protect my whole family.

He went on to say thank you to his family “for loving Sarah like a daughter” and also expressed his wish for healing.

“In time, with God’s grace and Love, everything will heal and fall into place.

“We are happy, we are blessed, and we are husband and wife! Let’s always celebrate life and love! Nothing will ever defeat pure honest LOVE. God bless everyone for your love and support!

“Again, from the deepest part of our hearts thank you!”

He ended the statement with “Mr and Mrs. Guidicelli” and the hashtags: “#family #BLESSED #HappywifeHappyLife #G022020”

Alice Dixson left ABS-CBN after doing the soap “Ngayon at Kailanman” and started appearing in GMA-7’s shows like “Beautiful Justice,” “Madrasta” and “Magpakailanman.” She now gets a regular role as one of the lead stars in GMA’s drama series, “Legal Wives.” She will play one of Dennis Trillo’s three wives. The other two are former Miss World Megan Young and HBO’s star in “Half Worlds,” Bianca Umali.

“Legal Wives” will be directed by Zig Dulay, who directed Bianca last year in the hit primetime soap, “Sahaya.”

Alice is in a relationship with the top executive of the 5-star Crimson Resort and spa in beachfront Station Zero of Boracay. She won’t reveal his full name except for his initial, GS.

They’ve been on for seven years and she’s hoping they will someday have their own baby through surrogacy.

At 50, Alice remains very fit and young looking through a healthy lifestyle. She can put some of her younger colleagues to shame with the good looks she’s able to maintain since she won in the Binibining Pilipinas in 1986. She became so popular then because of her “I can feel it!” commercial that Regal later launched her in their blockbuster remake of “Dyesebel” in 1989.

Alice says she’s looking forward to working with her co-stars in “Legal Wives.” “They’re all young and talented so I’m sure we’re all gonna have lots of fun taping our show,” she says.

“We also have a very young director who I heard is one of the most competent in the business today so I’m really looking forward to be directed by him.”

Nora Aunor is very happy with the positive feedback that the initial episodes of her new soap, “Bilangin ang Bituin sa Langit,” are getting. Netizens laud her acting as Cedes, the feisty wife of Ricky Davao who won’t bow to the landgrabbers who want to get their vineyard. “Nakakatuwang basahin ang comments nila kasi puro favorable,” she says. “Our director, Laurice Guillen, should be the one na dapat purihin sa magaling niyang direction.”

She took time out from her schedule to visit the victims of the Taal Volcano eruption in the coastal town of Agoncillo in Batangas who are just too happy to see the actress. She distributed goodies to all of them. It was raining when she visited them but she still got off her car to personally hand the bag of goodies to the residents. “Nakakatuwa dahil very appreciative naman sila. Gusto kong pasalamatan ang fans ko sa Noranians Worldwide dahil sila ang nagpagod in packing ‘yung goods na pinamigay namin sa mga tao. Malaki talaga ang naitulong nila.”

Rappers come and go but Gloc 9 has managed to stay on top. “I’m 23 years in the business now,” he says at the press con of Padi’s Barkada Tour 2020 where he’s the frontliner. It’s really amazing how he managed to remain on the scene after two decades of rapping.

Gloc 9 is known for his relevant songs about poverty and other social issues. He went solo but also collaborated with other top artists like the late Francis M, Rico Blanco, Parokya ni Edgar and Hale’s Champ Lui Pio. His hit songs include “Upuan,” “Sirena,” “Magda” and “Hari ng Tondo.” How does he feel now he’s being paired by Padi’s to do shows with younger artists like Shanti Dope, JKris, Lirah and alternative rock Sandiwa Band?

“It’s a great opportunity to work with today’s younger musicians,” he says. “When I was starting in the business, I was also made by Padi’s to join the company of more senior artists and I learned from them, so now I hope the new artists I’m performing with will also benefit from my own experience. We really want to thank Padi’s for their continuous support to local artists. Very memorable lagi ang tour nila sa dami ng kanilang locations, what with them now having 26 branches all over Luzon.”

Padi’s top honcho Vince Padilla is thankful that Padi’s is at the top of the industry as a restaurant and bar chain. “We’re the favorite venue for birthdays and other parties,” he says. “We’re also the favorite barkada hangout with our live bands plus food and drinks for the whole barkada like our signature 3-liter Padi’s Cocktail Towers.”

So why did they choose Gloc 9, Shanti Dope, JKris, Lirah and the Sandiwa Band to be their performers for the Bar Tour 2020?

“Since we’re the favorite hangout place of barkadas, inisip namin kung sino ang babagay sa tour na ito and these are the artists who we believe are perfect for our bar tour,” adds Padi’s marketing head Paulo de la Cruz. “Gloc 9 is a rap icon, Shanti Dope has his own loyal fans, JKris is a ‘Tawag ng Tanghalan’ discovery, Lirah is a hot rap acoustic princess with her hit single ‘May Sahod na Ba?’ and Sandiwa from Ivory Music has hits like ‘Gunita’ and ‘Paraya,’ so no doubt barkadas will flock to their shows at Padi’s from February to June.”
