Gardo Versoza struggles as a single dad who needs to tend for his children after his wife, played by Tina Paner, left him for a younger man in the next fresh episode of “Wish Ko Lang!” airing this Saturday, August 15.
In the story, Edgardo’s life revolves around his wife Elena (Tina) and their children Charles (Micko Laurente) and Edel (Miggs Cuaderno). But while he has been a loyal and dedicated husband, Edgardo’s wife still ends up betraying him and having an affair.
Edgardo suffers from a stroke and gets paralyzed. Despite this, Elena brings home her lover Brix (Anjo Damiles). Edgardo discovers their relationship and is dumbfounded that Elena is committing adultery with someone half their age. To make matters worse, Elena will later choose Brix over her husband and children, leaving them behind.
Since then, Edgardo does all he can to support their children — both of whom he discovers have congenital cataract. His eldest son, Charles, also has autism. As if these are not enough, Elena returns to get their children. Edgardo firmly takes a stand and refuses to let Elena take his children away from him. Edgardo’s only wish is for his children to have a better life.
As a father himself, Gardo says he knows what it feels like to want the best for your family. “Naka-relate ako sa pagiging responsable niyang tatay.”
And with challenging times still looming above us, Gardo shares that the pandemic made him realize that love for family is the most important thing. “Walang halaga lahat ng materyal na bagay. Ang importante pa rin ang pagmamahal mo sa pamilya,” he says.
Meanwhile, Tina hopes couples faced with problems get to iron out their misunderstandings between them before they make decisions that can affect their family. “Ang payo ko, kung hindi na kayo masaya sa isa’t isa, sana isipin n’yo na lang yung kapakanan ng mga anak ninyo. But then kung hindi na talaga healthy ang relationship n’yo bilang mag-asawa at least be friends para sa mga anak n’yo.”
“Wish Ko Lang!” with host Vicky Morales airs every Saturday on GMA-7.

Following the suspension of television production amid the on-going pandemic, Chris is beyond ecstatic to be working again with his comedic co-hosts James and Roadfill of Moymoy Palaboy. He and the program convey their solidarity with frontliners by observing strict precautionary measures upon returning on set.
“I am very excited to go back to work to see my colleagues. This is the longest time we’ve been apart. The production team seems to be very vigilant and proactive in coming up with the new policies to prevent getting infected,” says Chris.
The Department of Science and Technology ambassador also believes that educational shows such as “iBilib” are much needed in times like these as great platforms for alternative learning and spreading awareness.
“‘iBilib’ can certainly help during this COVID crisis by creating awareness and using science to educate people about the virus and tips on prevention,” says Chris.
This Sunday, Chris, James and Roadfill are joined by Shaira Diaz in trying out experiments from Street Genius, which viewers can follow at home. Meanwhile, Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera unveils lifehacks on how to keep the kitchen clean.
