Former Net 25 newscaster, MTV Asia host Eduard Bañez was only 17 and a nursing  student from New Era University when he joined Star Magic Batch 15 (2006). His contemporaries were Jessy Mendiola, Bella Padilla and Miss World 2013 Megan Young.

One project came after another. He hosted MTV Asia, mentored singers who had Billboard hits, modeled for Louis Vuitton and Vogue Philippines and eventually became a voice coach and a Professional Models Association of the Philippines (PMAP) member.

He also co-anchored a show on Radyo Singko 92.3  News FM with Arnell Ignacio and then left for the US. He is presently working at Six Flags in California.

Eduard considers himself privileged to work with big stars like Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, Cassie Ventura and the Australian singer of the song “Chandelier” Sia.

“Working with these big hitmakers taught me a lot. And Hollywood is far different from the entertainment scene in Manila. For Sia, I worked with her great team in her music video for ‘Chandelier’,“ he said.

The song became a worldwide hit and was nominated for Grammy Awards for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Music Video and Best Pop Solo Performance.

Eduard started singing at the age of 5 and pursued a career in music when he was  17.  His own rendition of Rey Valera’s “Kahit Maputi Na ang Buhok Ko” has been getting many views in You Tube. He is also busy with an upcoming sitcom for children’s cable network, Nickelodeon.

Like the roller coasters in the theme park where he works, Eduard is enjoying the beautiful ride of life:

“Life is a beautiful ride. Keep looking up — that’s the secret of life. Just live, be happy, enjoy life. Struggles will teach you a lot of things. Let’s keep on learning and growing,” said Eduard.
