THE PNP is actively helping in efforts to arrest suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo and several others in connection with the Senate probe on offshore gaming.
In a radio interview, PNP spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo also said there are no indications that Guo has left the country.
“We continue to provide police assistance to the Office of Sergeant Arms of the Senate which is tasked to implement the warrant of arrest against Mayor Guo and the others,” said Fajardo.
Fajardo said the PNP would not stop until Guo and the others are arrested, adding the police force is coordinating with other agencies in validating information about areas where they are hiding.
The Senate had ordered the arrest of Guo and the rest for failing to attend the Senate probe regarding offshore gaming hubs linked to criminal activities.
“That is what we want,” said Fajardo. “What we can assure (the public) is that the PNP will not stop until Alice Guo is submitted to the jurisdiction of the Senate.”
On the whereabouts of Guo, Fajardo said: “Based on the reports of the BI (Bureau of Immigration), there is no indication Mayor Guo and the others have left the country.
“The PNP has not stopped (in locating Guo and the others) and I am sure other law enforcement agencies are also validating information that they are receiving on the whereabouts of Mayor Guo and her companions,” said Fajardo.
She also issued a stern warning against those who might be coddling the controversial mayor and the rest.
“If we have enough evidence and we will be able to prove that people are coddling Mayor Guo and the other people we are trying to locate, we will file charges against them,” said Fajardo.
“That is the reminder we want to issue against anyone. They are going to face serious charges,” added Fajardo.
