PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. yesterday distributed 4,663 certificates of condonation with release of mortgage (COCROM) that cover more than P124.6 million worth of long-standing unpaid debts and arrears owed by farmers.
Marcos, during the distribution event on Monday in Paniqui, Tarlac, said the COCROM benefited 3,527 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) from various municipalities of Tarlac.
The distribution of COCROMs is part of the implementation of the New Agrarian Emancipation Act that was signed into law by Marcos last year and condoned a total of P57.56 billion in arrears, debt, surcharge and interest owed by 610,054 farmers nationwide.
Marcos reaffirmed his administration’s committment to continue working and aiding the ARBs amid all the challenges they face.
In return, President Marcos Jr. asked the ARBs to make their lands more productive, not only for their own good but for the benefit of the whole nation.
