After starring in rom-coms, Sanya Lopez welcomes being in a fantasy action series, “Mga Lihim ni Urduja.”
SANYA Lopez is elated to do action in “Mga Lihim ni Urduja,” where she plays the title role no less.
“Iba rin kasi ang challenge ng doing action scenes,” she said. “After I did ‘First Yaya’ and ‘First Lady’ na drama-comedy, talagang welcome for me itong ‘Mga Lihim ni Urduja’ as my next project.”
She’s also glad to be reunited with Kylie Padilla and Gabbi Garcia, who played her sisters in the “Encantadia” reboot in 2016. “That show was memorable for me kasi doon kami unang nagkasama-sama,” she added. “Since then, marami nang nangyari sa mga buhay at career namin, and now, panay ang kwentuhan namin sa set ng ‘Mga Lihim ni Urduja’ to catch up with each other’s lives.”
Sanya will appear in the sequences set in the past, during pre-colonial times, at the kingdom of Tawalisi where she reigns as Hara Urduja, a mystical warrior queen. Eventually, her story will intertwine with those of Kylie Padilla as Gem and Gabbi Garcia as Crystal in the modern world. When asked about her lovelife, Sanya says it’s still zero. What’s her requirement in having a BF?
“If ever, gusto ko ready for a serious relationship at hindi naglalaro lang as I don’t have time for that,” she replied. “Siempre, it will help if he’s good-looking, mature, mabait, cool and God-fearing. I’m not in a hurry naman kasi busy ako. Takot din akong ma-in love kasi passionate ako at ibinibigay ko ang lahat.”

“Yes po,” said Rose, who just celebrated her birthday the day before the Sunday Zoom press con of “Stalkers.” “In college, may nagi-stalk sa akin. Lagi akong inaabangan, giving me all sorts of gifts. It became scary, kaya natakot akong lumabas for a while. Buti na lang tumigil din siya.”

Richard Gutierrez is happy that his hard hitting action-drama, “The Iron Heart,” is extended and its Book 2 has just started. He plays Apollo Adelantar, a secret agent also called Tisoy aka Olimpio Custodio. The show projects him as a suave and debonair kind of James Bond and this is established right in the first episode when he planted a bomb on a helicopter that exploded in mid-air.
He was wearing a pricey tuxedo, with him looking so dapper and handsome like the legendary 007.
His mission is to topple a crime ring, the Tatsulok, led by Albert Martinez. It’s so noticeable that he is now more buff than ever before. How did he do it?
“Matagal siyang proseso and I’m still working on it. The most difficult part is watching what you eat, which is hard especially when we’re taping on location in Cebu kasi ang sasarap ng pagkain doon. I also try to exercise everyday for one hour. The hard action sequences that we do in ‘The Iron Heart’ is also very taxing and I really have to be fit to be able to do them without a double and without being injured.”
Richard has been with wife Sarah Lahbati for 11 years now. Their eldest son, Zion, is now ten years old and the youngest, Kai, is five years old. What is the secret of their relationship?
“Ang dami na naming pinagdaanan and we were always there for each other, kaya solid na solid kami ngayon. We communicate well and we go out on dates, watch a movie, eat out, na kaming dalawa lang. We are growing together not only as a couple but also as friends.”
What can he say about his twin brother Raymond who is now more open about his sexuality? “I am so happy for him. He is a late bloomer and I’m glad na may love life na siya and he is sharing it with the entire world. Mabait naman ang partner niya, si Rob. I wish them both well.”
