‘I didn’t expect that so many people would love it and embrace it with open arms and hearts — Heaven Peralejo’

HEAVEN PERALEJO

VIVA hosted a special press con for Heaven Peralejo and Marco Gallo for the big success of their 10-episode mini series, “The Rain in España,” now streaming on Viva One and also shown on TV5 every Sunday. It looks like Viva is really pushing the Heaven-Marco tandem as they are now tagged as the “MarVen” love team. But some fans of “The Rain in España” call them “LuKal,” from their names in the show, Luna and Kalix. What can Heaven say about the show’s success?

“Sobrang saya,” says Heaven. “I didn’t expect that so many people would love it and embrace it with open arms and hearts. We read the positive reaction of viewers online, grabe ang ganda ng feedback so we’re really so happy.”

She realized how popular the series is when she went to Boracay a few days ago.

“Nakakatuwa kasi nga I was just in Boracay and when people saw me, they approached me, calling me Luna and asking where’s Kalix. Hinahanap sa akin pati ‘yung ibang members ng cast. Sana huwag silang bumitaw at magsawang manood hanggang sa last episode namin.”

Viva is really betting on them as they are even shooting a full-length movie now, “Ship Show,” written and directed by Jason Paul Laxamana. “Yes, we’re really excited kasi ang ganda ng concept and story ng movie. But when we were initially paired ni Marco, we didn’t expect to be a love team. Akala namin, dito lang sa ‘The Rain in España’. But now, we have a movie!”

Richard Gutierrez has a very successful blockbuster action-packed drama series in “The Iron Heart.” It started airing in November and now, after six months, it is still going strong with it loyal followers. Its viewers just cannot seem to get enough of its intriguing story and well conceived and executed action set pieces.

As “The Iron Heart” starts its new season, Richard had an intimate press con with selected writers and he announced the plans for the extension of his engrossing show.

“We’re having a meeting soon to discuss new storylines,” he says. “Right now, the show is giving more attention to the various villains to shed light on their back stories and connect them all to us.”

We tell him his character as Apollo/Tisoy has the most number of tough villains today, including Albert Martinez, Diether Ocampo, Jake Cuenca, Baron Geisler, Ryan Eigenmann, Christian Vasquez and Dimples Romana.

“And now bumalik na si Ian Veneracion,” he adds. “Kasi nawala ‘yung character niya when he did shows in the US. But now, we’ll focus on him na and his character as Menandro Enriquez.”

The action sequences he does with various villains and their henchmen are all astounding for local TV audiences. Do they have any peg in executing the action scenes? “Lahat naman ngayon, John Wick. Pero siempre, ang action scenes nila, six weeks nilang nire-rehearse.

Kami, six minutes lang. We always have limited time kasi limited din kami sa use ng location and we are airing everyday, so we have to maximize everything. But my fight scene with Baron Geisler, it took us two days to shoot. Kasi very intense ang eksena. At si Baron, napakahusay na villain, talagang madadala ka. Kasi nang-aasar, kaya nakakapikon.”

Julia Victoria is the latest Vivamax nymphet to be given a starring role in “Kabayo,” after playing supporting roles in the films “Bula” and “Lawa” and the mini-series “Lovely Ladies Dormitory.”

“This is my most challenging as Laurene, a girl who comes from a wealthy family na very liberated when it comes to sex,” says the 19-year-old sexpot. “Seven years na kami ng partner ko, si Rico Barrera, and I’m getting bored so I told him to get us a playmate for some excitement naman. He got Apple Castro as ka-threesome namin.”

Does she have any limitations in doing sexy scenes?

“None, basta sa ikakaganda ng movie, I have no limitations. Pero gusto ko, may plaster pa rin ang private parts ko even if I have to disrobe for the camera.”

What can she say those who look down on Vivamax stars who do sexy flicks?

“Naku, sorry po pero wala akong pakialam kung ganun ang tingin nila. Kung ayaw nila sa ginagawa namin, hindi ko na iniintindi, as long as may nakaka-appreciate naman ng movies ng Vivamax na siyang number one streaming channel ngayon. Kanya-kanya naman tayo ng paniniwala at opinyon, so wala akong problema sa gusto nilang paniwalaan. Hindi naman sila ang nagbabayad sa trabaho namin.”

In “Kabayo,” her co-stars are Rico Barrera, Ping Medina, Angelo Ilagan and two newcomers, Apple Castro and Mara Flores. This is directed by Gianfranco Morciano who’s making his filmmaking debut in this movie shot in Tacloban.
