‘While the nation does not seem to be in a celebratory mood, the real and essential celebration should capture Robredo’s remarkable forbearance, prudence and patriotism which are more powerful than the coveted and conquered political positions…’
VICE-PRESIDENT Leni Robredo’s astute restraint in the face of her overwhelming but unexplained defeat and of the similarly unexplained digital victory of her rival is a huge story by itself.
It has shown a steely will of control and tolerance against protest and unyielding denial to the electoral triumph that seemed to have grossly transgressed the truth and integrity of the ballot.
For the first time in the nation’s electoral history, a vice-president has shunned putting up a hostile front to give up her legal and political rights in questioning the election returns for the national canvass of the votes for President and Vice-President.
This despite the fact that the Commission on Elections is unable to explain credibly the unbelievably iconic speed of the transmission of votes and the shockingly uniformed and consistent ratio of votes of Bongbong Marcos to Robredo’s.
While the nation does not seem to be in a celebratory mood, the real and essential celebration should capture Robredo’s remarkable forbearance, prudence and patriotism which are more powerful than the coveted and conquered political positions and the soaring political fortunes that nourish them.

Re-elected Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto did one of the most unusual, which regularly escapes his fellow local executives – he had elevated more than 2,000 casual and job-order city employees to regular status. From And Vital, former station manager of DZRH: “Why can’t other city or municipal mayors and governors do the same for city and provincial employees. Matagal nang dapat na-professionalize ang LGU service, pero for obvious reasons, hindi ginagawa. Kasi, habang JO or casual, hawak nila sa leeg. Naggamit sa pulitika. At dahil dyan, ‘yung matitinong empleyado, nasasayang ang career. Imagine staying up to 10 years or even to retire as JP or casual! Tapusin na natin ‘yang lawak na corruption sa government service. Sobra nang tagal!” Calling on new DOLE Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma!

Senior citizens should be wary of the assault of various medications from nearly every diagnosis that just seems bothersome to their thoughts. Personally, I was losing a lot of pounds some months ago until my sisters-doctors frantically advised a series of lab tests to check if I was sick of anything.
I am a member and counsellor of the Ministry of Healing and Deliverance of the Christ’s Commission Fellowship (CCF) and would often engage in group prayers for the healing of sick relatives and friends, including those suffering from emotional traumas and mental problems. Prior to my lab exams, I kept praying Psalm 92:12-15 which provides real physical and spiritual enlightenment for the aged who always think they are sick: “The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God. They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green, proclaiming, “The Lord is upright; he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in Him.” Another powerful prayer for healing for me has been Psalm 103: 1-4 “Bless the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being praise His Holy Name. Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all His benefits – who forgives all your sins heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns us with love and compassion.”
Indeed, we should realign our hopes to sustain a long, healthy life with God’s Word, and not just trust medical science all the time.
All my lab exams came out negative. including the “youthful” condition of my prostate which baffled the doctors. God is really good, real and faithful! In Jesus’ name!!
