‘Dati, I woke up lang when there’s work to do or I have
to work out. Sarili ko lang ang inaalala ko — Juancho Trivino’
JUANCHO Trivino is glad to be back in acting as Damien Santiago in “Little Princess.”
“Maganda ang role ko as a top gamer na magiging kalaban ni Jo Berry sa Mobile Legends,” he says. “Anak ako ni Tito Lander Vera Perez and it will turn out later na si Jo is anak naman ni Tito Jestoni Alarcon na rival businessman ng dad ko. But still, magiging good friends kami ni Jo and I will develop some feelings for her.”
He was last seen in “Madrasta” about a year ago. In between acting assignments, he accepted temporary work in a BPO company to augment his family’s monthly income.
Juancho married “Unang Hirit” co-host Joyce Pring on February 9, 2020 and their baby boy, Liam, was born on July 5, 2021.The offer to do “Little Princess” came three months later.
“Yes, nahirapan ako, kasi three months pa lang ang baby namin,” he says. “But I have to thank my wife Joyce kasi she encouraged me to accept the acting job dahil trabaho ‘yun.
Mahirap din sa part niya kasi, dati, palitan kami sa pagtulog. But awa ng Diyos, nakaraos naman kami, pero sobrang na-miss ko ang mag-ina ko.”
Juancho says being a dad really changed him a lot. “Dati, I woke up lang when there’s work to do or I have to work out. Sarili ko lang ang inaalala ko. But now, I have to think of my wife first, our child. It’s not just me anymore. Sila na ang foremost responsibility ko.”
But he’s grateful and very happy about it. “Sabi nga ni Rodjun Cruz, who’s also a new dad at kasama ko sa show, sila ang inspiration para sa amin to do better in our life and our career. They make things more challenging but also very exciting. Alam ko na ngayong I have a son so I have to be very careful para maging mabuti akong father sa kanya. I want to be a good role model for him.”

Sheryl Cruz joins the cast of “Prima Donnas, Book 2.” She and her two other cousins are now all doing shows with GMA. Sunshine Cruz is on the primetime soap, “Mano Po Legacy: The Family Fortune,” while Geneva Cruz is in the afternoon drama, “Little Princess.” Only Donna Cruz is missing.
Sheryl’s last show was the hit, “Magkaagaw,” in which she was linked to her young co-star, Jeric Gonzales, but they both denied their rumored romance.
“Well, I’m happy that after ‘Magkaagaw,’ heto, may bago na akong show,” she said. “I play Bethany, a balikbayan from Australia na siyang nakasama roon ni Sofia Pablo as Lenlen.
Noong una, I was nervous kasi matagal nang magkakasama ang buong cast sa show and they’re already closely knit. Ako ‘yung bagong salta. But I’m very grateful as they welcomed me very warmly as the new member of the cast. They all made it easy for me to do my job. It’s a great project and I’m sure people will enjoy watching it.”
Her role offers a new challenge for her: speaking English with an Australian accent.
“Kami ni Sofia Pablo, parehong pinag-aralan namin pati ang popular expressions nila,” she said. “We had fun. With the guidance of our inay, si Direk Gina Alajar, I think nagawa namin nang maayos ang trabaho namin. I’d really want to thank the GMA creative team na ako ang napili nilang gumanap as Bethany at isama sa grupong ito.”
