Not many among the younger generation, who includes my 11 year-old apo, Cheska, who claims she’s a “mega” fanatic, know that Sharon Cuneta and Helen Gamboa are mag auntie.
“Malaking influence sa buhay ko si Tita Helen (in her time very popular as a song and dance star),” said Sharon.
“My mom (the late Elaine Gamboa) allowed me to tag along with my Mama Helen in her performances. No wonder, I ended up like her, a song and dance star, too.
“Bonus na naging megastar ako,” she shyly added.
They are both married to senators — Helen to Senate President Tito Sotto and Sharon to Senator Francis Pangilinan.
Now in her 70s, Helen, according to husband, Senator Tito Sotto, still gets good showbiz offers. Recently, she was offered a lead role in a series. Tito Sen shared that Helen begged off at the last minute when she learned they were to have lock in taping.
“Very conscious of her health si Helen,” Tito Sen said. “And do I love her more for that.”
They have been married for 53 years. They have four children. Their only boy, Gian, is the vice mayor of Quezon City.
In the case of Tito Sen, it’s a done deal that he will run as vice president in 2022. He is running with presidential aspirant Senator Ping Lacson.

Willie Revillame is not running next year. Not even if President Duterte considers him a sure winner.
“Naisip siguro ni Willie ang mawawalan ng trabaho kapag nanalo nga siya at ‘must’ na tigilan na niya ang pagpu-produce ng programa niyang ‘Wowowin.’ Foremost ang mga nagtatrabaho sa kanya,” a kibitzer said. “At paano ang daily audience niya na umaasa sa ayuda na matatanggap from the show? Lalo ‘yung nasa malalayong lugar?”
Well, Willie, you are still a winner, especially in the hearts of your followers.

Someone wonders how Juliana Gomez, only child of Ormoc City Mayor Richard Gomez and Leyte Representative Lucy Torres, feels about the report that her ex-boyfriend, Marco Gallo, had frontal nudity in the movie, “Ang Manananggal Na Nahahati ang Puso,” directed by Darryl Yap.
Yap is also the director behind Sharon Cuneta’s daring film “Revirginized.”
“Malinis ang pagkakakuha ng mga eksena,” said Direk Daryl. “Kaya hindi mapapahiya si Marco na ipapanood kay Juliana.”
But will Juliana be interested?
Julianna turned 21 last September 8. She is taking up a business administration course at the University of the Philippines.
