V-D. You have it

‘These fascists may well be in power for 12 years (1933-1945 or two consecutive presidential terms) and their disgorgement will not happen through prayers alone. Call for calm, sure, but this is the calm before the storm…’

OF course, they cheated.

“The SA practiced violent interference with elections. We have the reports of the SD describing in detail how its members later violated the secrecy of elections in order to identify those who opposed them. One of the reports makes this explanation:
‘The control was effected in the following way: some members of the election-committee marked all the ballot papers with numbers. During the ballot itself, a voters’ list was made up. The ballot-papers were handed out in numerical order, therefore it was possible afterwards with the aid of this fist to find out the persons who cast no-votes or invalid votes. One sample of these marked ballot-papers is enclosed.’” [https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Opening_address_for_the_United_States_for_Prosecution_of_Axis_Criminality/Part_2]

The SA is Die Sturmabteilungen der Nationalsozialistischen Deutschen Arbeiterpartei — “a formation of the Nazi Party under the immediate jurisdiction of the Fuehrer, organized on military lines, whose membership was composed of volunteers serving as political soldiers of the Party… a vast private army and utilized for the purpose of creating disorder, and terrorizing and eliminating political opponents.” The SD is Der Sicherheitsdienst des Reichsfuehrer-SS —

“a vast espionage and counter-intelligence system which operated in conjunction with the Gestapo and criminal police in detecting, suppressing and eliminating tendencies, groups and individuals deemed hostile or potentially hostile to the Nazi Party.” [Nuremberg War Crimes Trial Appendix B Statement of criminality of Groups and Organizations]

These cheaters “terrorized and silenced democratic opposition and were able at length to combine with political opportunists, militarists, industrialists, monarchists, and political reactionaries.” Result: “On January 30,1933 Adolf Hitler became Chancellor of the German Republic. An evil combination, represented in the prisoners’ dock by its most eminent survivors, had succeeded in possessing itself of the machinery of the German Government.” [Opening address for the United States for Prosecution of Axis Criminality/Part 2 — The Lawless Road to Power by Robert Houghwout Jackson]

Winning governmental authority via elections is merely one step in the Nazi conspiracy, as the Hitlerites “always contemplated not merely overcoming current opposition but exterminating elements which could not be reconciled.” [Opening address for the United States by Robert Houghwout Jackson_3 — The Consolidation of Nazi Power]

Victory-Defeat here is a zero-sum game. Reconciliation? Retribution! These millions of their voters, these lumpen would become the “ardent partisans who enlisted blindly to do the dirty work the leaders planned.” [Opening address for the United States by Robert Houghwout Jackson_12 — The Political Police and Military Organizations]

These fascists may well be in power for 12 years (1933-1945 or two consecutive presidential terms) and their disgorgement will not happen through prayers alone. Call for calm, sure, but this is the calm before the storm, the storm of the Waffen SS, the SS Totenkopfverbande, SS Polizei Regimente, and Die Geheime Staatspolizei (Secret State Police, commonly known as the Gestapo). If you want peace and justice: “We are able to do away with domestic tyranny and violence and aggression by those in power against the rights of their own people only when we make all men answerable to the law.” [Opening address for the United States for Prosecution of Axis Criminality/Part 13_The Responsibility of this Tribunal by Robert Houghwout Jackson]

Since the Germans could not correct their own mistakes, the original United Nations had to be mustered and it took six years of massive anti-fascist violence to dislodge Hitlerism. With the Soviet Red Army liberating Berlin, Hitler had taken his own life and a week later Grand Admiral Donitz admitted defeat. By 08 May 1945, Victory in Europe was announced, although British and Commonwealth Armed Forces were still fighting in Burma, Singapore and Thailand. “In America, the day was dedicated to President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who had recently died.” [https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/3506099/ve-day-when-how-celebrated/]

After WW2, V-E Day is Victory and Peace Day (Armenia), Liberation Day (Guernsey), The Crushing of Nazism and Commemoration Day of Victims of World War II (Latvia), Victory Day and Commemoration of the Fallen Heroes for the Independence of the Fatherland (Moldova), Frigjí¸ringsdagen (Norway), Victory over Fascism Day (Slovakia), and Day of Remembrance of National Heroes of Turkmenistan in the 1941—1945 World War. It was the triumph of coalition warfare: “In World War II, ethnic Ukrainian soldiers fought in the Red Army alongside Russian soldiers. The Soviet Union suffered 24 million civilian and military casualties while battling Nazi Germany and its allies.”

V-E Day is not the only WW2-related occasion. On 04-08 May 1942, the imperialist Japanese attempt to capture Tulagi in the Solomons and Port Moresby in New Guinea was thwarted by an Allied force (American carriers Yorktown and Lexington and Australian cruisers Australia and Hobart). Relevance today? Antony J. Blinken, U.S. Secretary of State, Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the Battle of Coral Sea, 05/09/2022: “Eighty years ago, the United States and Australia formed an unprecedented partnership just months after the attack on Pearl Harbor and the bombings of Darwin and Broome…Our countries joined forces and our service members fought side-by-side for four days in what would become a turning point in the war in the Pacific. Our nations are forever grateful for the heroism demonstrated by those courageous Americans and Australians. We will always remember the sacrifice they made for the cause of freedom in the Pacific.”

“The battle paved the way for an alliance that today is a foundational underpinning to the stability of the region and for democracy in the Indo-Pacific. We remain committed to our shared values and a shared vision for the region for the years to come. Whether we are combating the COVID-19 pandemic, strengthening our economies, or advancing peace and prosperity, the United States and Australia continue to be steadfast allies for each other and the Indo-Pacific region.”

There you have it: You lose, then you win.
