‘Suportahan kami sa eksena, pero sa mabibigat na eksena, hindi muna kami nagpapansinan para kunwari, totoo ‘yung mga away naming — Barbie Imperial’
BARBIE IMPERIAL and DIEGO LOYZAGA
BARBIE Imperial gained fame as “The Doll Along the Riles in Albay” in “Pinoy Big Brother” 2015. She then joined Girltrends in “It’s Showtime” and did lead roles in TV series like “Araw, Gabi” and “Oh Mando.”
Now, Viva got her to star in a film titled “Dulo” with her boyfriend, Diego Loyzaga. So how is it? “Sobrang happy ako kasi I really like to work with Diego and I’m thankful to Viva they gave me this project with him,” she said. “Happy rin akong siya ang una kong nakasama sa first movie ko with Viva. May follow-up project na nga raw kami.”
Is it easier to work with your own boyfriend? “Mas madali in a way, kasi kilala ko na ang mga galaw ni Diego. Suportahan kami sa eksena, pero sa mabibigat na eksena, hindi muna kami nagpapansinan para kunwari, totoo ‘yung mga away namin, para ‘yung paghuhugutan mo, maging totoo.”
In working with him, she discovered how good an actor Diego is. “Si Diego, talagang magaling na aktor. Ang husay niya rito. If I’d rate him, I’d give him 11, not just 10. We help motivate each other.”
What did she like in Diego as a boyfriend? “Masyado siyang totoo, walang pakialam about your past or sa maling decisions na nagawa mo. Hindi ka matatakot sabihin sa kanya kahit ang mga mabibigat na bagay na nakakahiyang sabihin, kasi hindi siya mapanghusga. Our relationship is a work in progress kasi hindi naman lagi na lang kayong masaya. Part ng relationship ang magkaproblema kayo. Ang importante alam nyo kung paano i-solve ‘yun.”
“Dulo” starts streaming on Vivamax on December 10.

Kyline Alcantara is elated that after getting to work with Nora Aunor in her last teleserye, “Bilangin ang Bituin sa Langit,” she now gets to work with Heart Evangelista, Paolo Contis and Richard Yap in her new GMA show, “I Left My Heart in Sorsogon.”
“I look up to all of them,” she said. “Our show is a congregation of beautiful and talented artists. Ate Heart is one stylish fashion icon. Si Kuya Paolo naman has always been so warm and maloko, kaya enjoy ako working with him. Si Kuya Richard Yap, I dunno how to approach him, but siya pa ang naunang bumati sa akin.”
So how is it doing lock-in taping in Sorsogon? “Si Ate Heart, sobra kong nagulat as she acted like a glue sa set who connected us all together. She was like a tourist guide and made sure everyone was okay during the whole shoot. She’s like a real Ate to me and even gives tips about life, love and career. In short, we had so much fun during our lock-in taping in Sorsogon.”
She is paired with Mavy Legaspi and the show officially introduces their love team. How would she describe her relationship with him as of the moment?
“I know this will sound showbiz, but I really enjoy his company,” she said. “As of now, we’re good friends, but we don’t know about the future. No need naman to rush as we’re both still so young.”
What does she like in him? “He’s brought up well by his parents. Sa lahat ng lalaking nakilala ko, siya talaga ang pinaka-gentleman. Nagagalit siya kapag ako ang nagbubukas ng pinto at nagtitimpla ng kape. Dapat siya raw gumagawa noon. Nakakakilig siempre, nakakadalagang Pilipina.”

Mikoy Morales, a runner-up in GMA’s “Protege Artista Search,” is happy that GMA has just renewed his contract and he is now part of a new big adventure series, “Lolong,” with Ruru Madrid. He’s also a regular in “Bubble Gang” and is part of the show’s 25th anniversary presentation.
“I’m very thankful to be a part of ‘Bubble Gang’ for 8 years now,” he said. “I learned a lot from it, specially from Kuya Michael V who is so generous in sharing with us all his expertise about doing comedy. Abangan nyo ang aming special anniversary presentation kasi maraming magagandang numbers and big guest stars.
“I’ve been with GMA since 2012 so anlaking bahagi na ng buhay ko ang pagiging Kapuso,” he said. “My stay with them is life-changing. It’s like a relationship with your parents that is well grounded. I don’t know kung nasaan ako ngayon kung wala sila. So I’m really grateful to GMA and to Artist Center na hanggang ngayon, nandito pa rin ako sa kanila and they still see my worth.”
And now, he has also just made his first movie with Viva, “Mang Jose,” where he co-stars with Janno Gibbs. How did he get to be a part of “Mang Jose”?
“Nakita ko lang ‘yung poster nila na may audition, so nag-apply ako. Ayun, suwerteng ako ang nakuha nila. I’m so happy kasi first time ko to work with Kuya Janno Gibbs.
Intimidated ako nung una kay Kuya Janno kasi magaling talaga siya sa comedy, but it turns out that he is very collaborative. He really talks with us muna about how to do our scenes together para mabuo ng maganda.”
