The Social Media Universe has introduced so many trends that have been embraced by people across various walks in life. Whether one uses it for the platform for personal or professional purposes, they definitely capture our attention and, in some ways, entice us to follow the fad.
Then we find ourselves, giving it our precious time of the day and the motivation to do the same. One trend that captured my attention is the Tell Me Without Telling Me lingo. Whereby one gets to describe something without explicitly saying the subject. It’s interesting how people in omni channels give out their own take and creative replies to the Tell Me Without Telling Me catch. Allow me to take you through some personal insights on a few top of mind scenarios where I can use this.
Tell Me You Are A Leader Without Telling Me You Are a Leader.
Leaders that we admire, do not swing their positions around. They do not introduce themselves with their executive roles shared either in bold letters or exclamation points. Introductions are even lowkey and the preference to be treated as a regular guy is evident. No question on where he or she will be seated, not unless it’s a program or company protocol. Whether they are in the limelight or back-end support. Initiative is innate in them but acknowledgement is not necessary.
You will spot a natural leader, when the willingness to serve is there and one gets hard tasks done effortlessly because tackling difficult challenges is a norm for him. The first one who encourages in a difficult situation and the one who makes sure that no one is left behind. Yes! There are many beautiful ways to spot a truly inspiring leader and we can always try to be one without having to say we are.
Tell Me You are a Harworker Without Telling Me You are a Hardworker.
Most of the time the most hardworking people in the room are usually not the ones that look the busiest. They look composed and calm. Even in stressfully hectic situations they look like everything is under control. Their schedule or calendar of activities may not be the fullest, but they have done high impact things and meet up with essential people. Productivity is evident in the numbers delivered in numbers anyway. Projects get successfully executed and when a crisis needs to be addressed, they know how to manage the situation. For Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) accounts will be able to validate the hard work of the account manager with a meaningful relationship. Their interaction will speak volumes of how much hard work has been put in. So it’s to spot one hard worker when you see one.
Tell Me You are a Believer Without Telling Me You are a Believer.
Although I have read one time, that God likes it when we praise and honor him through our words and our chants. When we are a believer though words are not enough to affirm that you are so. People have to see that not just in your words but also in deeds. What becomes of us when we proclaim we are so but our actions reflect the opposite of that. A believer is one whose faith is evident in whatever season of life he or she is in. Through good and bad times, the believer runs to no one but God, our creator. Through times that may question our capacity to solve and work around in situations, a believer’s heart is filled not with doubt but gratitude for his unending grace.
There are many ways to Tell Me Without Telling Me. As they say, more than words, it’s what others can feel and see in you.
