Sarah back on ‘ASAP’

It’s been almost two years that she’s not appeared on the small screen and there was even speculation she’s transferring to a new network.

SARAH GERONIMO

Sarah Geronimo is reportedly returning to the Kapamilya variety show “ASAP.”

This puts to rest the rumors the singer-actress is tagging along with her husband Matteo Guidicelli, who is said to have signed up with GMA.

There are talks Matteo will be seen next on GMA, and Sarah, who has been absent from the small screen for almost two years now, will follow suit and also turn Kapuso.

The announcement of Sarah’s return appeared on “ASAP’s” official account on Instagram. It had a short video of Sarah with the words “The long wait is over,” “She’s back” and “Soon.”

Well, if we remember correctly, Sarah started her career after winning in “Star for a Night” on IBC-13. She then joined GMA’s “SOP” and gained a huge following. She later moved to ABS-CBN where she starred in several movies and became part of “ASAP” and “The Voice,” among others.

How true is the rumor that GMA dangled a tremendous amount of money for Sarah to transfer to GMA?

In any case, we look forward to seeing Sarah back on the small screen. We wonder what Matteo’s show will be once he turns Kapuso. How about appearing first with John Lloyd Cruz, who has a weekly sitcom on GMA?

Matteo and John Lloyd were both Kapamilya contract stars.

Actor-politician Bong Revilla is hoping to revive the ailing showbiz industry by filing a bill that will help provide fiscal incentives to operators of cinemas.

The Senate Bill No. 28 hopes to resuscitate the dying film industry by removing the different national and local taxes such as income tax, excise tax, value-added tax, and amusement tax.

Sen. Bong said that “5% of the gross income earned shall be paid to the government, on which 3% shall be remitted to the National Government and 2% shall be remitted to the Treasurer’s Office of the city or municipality where the enterprise is located.”

“We have nursed back many businesses and establishments back to life in the last few years. And as we do so, we should not forget the movie industry and the thousands in its employ who have been so badly hit by the pandemic. Many do not realize that in one way or another, they too are frontliners because of the entertainment they continue to produce for the Filipino people. For this industry and its art to keep living and thriving, we must offer swift assistance,” he explained.

Fans welcome the inclusion of Paulo Avelino in the Filipino adaptation of the hit Korean series, “Flower of Evil.”

Paulo, an award-winning actor, joins fellow award winners Piolo Pascual and Lovi Poe in the series.

Paulo is said to be “the perfect choice” to portray the “real Jacob Del Rosario” – a mysterious individual that is currently in a coma inside a secret room in the home of his wealthy parents, played by Edu Manzano and Agot Isidro.

Paulo is grateful for the positive feedback, but admits that it was very challenging for him to give life to the complex character.

“I feel honored to do this project because it’s the first remake. I’m happy that they’re excited to see me do Jacob Del Rosario. But personally, I can’t say that I’m the perfect choice because I really had to study my role to make it work. I hope viewers really enjoy the outcome,” he said.

Netizens are excited to see Paulo and Piolo face off in the coming weeks. Surely, that will make for exciting television.

“Flower of Evil” airs on Viu every Thursday and Friday at 8 p.m., and on Kapamilya Channel, Jeepney TV, and A2Z every Saturday and Sunday at 9 p.m.
