IF the Yanson Group of Bus Companies think it was contributing to the political mileage of the UniTeam of Bongbong Marcos and Sarah Duterte-Carpio by cancelling the booking in Bacolod of the Leni Robredo-Kiko Pangilinan supporters, it just ensured more votes for the Vice President and the Senator.
Instead of being discouraged from joining the rally at the Paglaum Sports Stadium, they either rode jeepneys or walked. Thousands took to the streets early morning that day as soon as it was announced that the Ceres buses would not make it.
The reason given by the Yansons, known to be long-time friends and supporters of the Marcoses, was that other bus routes would be neglected if the buses meant for the rally had gone ahead with the bookings. It seemed the company did not hide its malice by cancelling the bookings at the last minute and justifying its decision in a flimsy manner.
And the Yanson agenda seemed obvious to anyone. Dirty politics aimed at national candidates, such as for President and Vice President, trigger a stronger and widespread backlash and in this case, reversing the Yanson’s sincere intentions for Marcos and Duterte-Carpio in favor of abundant sympathy votes for Robredo and Pangilinan.

President Duterte appointing a former lawyer of Bongbong Marcos clearly shows that his hostility with the presidential aspirant was fake. Bereft of any delicadeza, Atty. George Garcia gladly accepted the devious presidential designation. He represented Marcos Jr. in the electoral fraud case against Robredo that was dismissed by the Supreme Court.
The game plan that has unraveled was for Bongbong to endure the presidential ire so that Sarah-Duterte Carpio would benefit politically from a lambasted Marcos Jr. People know the friendship between the Dutertes and the Marcoses go a long way.

The Christian community in Eastern Europe is awed at how supernatural interventions have saved Ukrainian soldiers and civilians. Russian soldiers took Ukrainian flags from buildings and offices in a town they just occupied as symbols of victory over a vanquished enemy.
