‘Lovi will not only get to display her dramatic chops but also her talent in doing solid action sequences.’

Lovi Poe is proving to all that she’s her father’s, Fernando Poe, Jr., daughter.
In “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” the Kapamilya primetime series inspired by her dad’s blockbuster film with Maricel Soriano, Lovi will not only get to display her dramatic chops but also her talent in doing solid action sequences.
“FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” just premiered on Kapamilya Channel and TV5 last Monday.
Did she get emotional when she found out she will be part of the “Batang Quiapo” cast?
“Of course,” she said before the show’s grand press con.
She added she is very excited to be working with the whole cast, especially her leading man Coco Martin, who is also co-director and line producer of the series. Coco has been continuing her dad’s legacy, after leading the successful “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.”
We tease her about her international career. Lovi is part of the cast of the movie, “Chelsea Cowboy,” filmed in the UK. Lovi is assigned the role of British blues singer Dana Gillespie.
The film has yet to be released, but we are already sure that it won’t be her last. What will she do if an international career comes a-knocking? And of course, Lovi frequently rendezvous abroad with her beau, British producer Montgomery Blencowe. Perhaps her character in “Batang Quiapo,” Mokang, will be seen going to the province to take a break or will be taken hostaged or kidnapped so she can attend to her engagements abroad.
“Pwede,” she quipped.
Well, going by the track record of Deo Endrinal’s Dreamscape Entertainment and Coco, “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” will again get viewers hooked for many years.
