Alden Richards has finally completed his lock-in taping for his “Love on the Balcony” episode of GMA-7’s new drama anthology show, “I Can See You.” He is paired for the first time with Jasmine Curtis-Smith, who just finished taping all her scenes for “Descendants of the Sun” in the mountains of Tanay.
They play each other’s love interest and some folks are apprehensive that Jasmine might be attacked by diehard fans who hate to see Alden being paired with anyone other than their idol, Maine Mendoza. But more open-minded fans welcome seeing Alden being paired with other actresses. They say that both Alden and Jasmine are good actors so it’s nice to see them doing a dramatic love story together. As one netizen says upon seeing their on-the-set photos of “I Can See You”: “They have good chemistry and this is something to look forward to.”
In the unusual love story amidst the pandemic, Alden plays a wedding videographer while Jasmine is a nurse. When the lockdown was declared, they both have to stay in the same condominium building where they live and they would meet each other at the balcony, where love eventually blooms between them. As usual, they follow safety protocols and both had a swab test along with the crew before taping started. They’re happy they both were negative to the coronavirus.
Alden has three current shows: “Eat Bulaga,” “All Out Sunday” and the rewind of “One True Love.” Now, aside from “I Can See You,” he’s also doing another new show for GMA News and Public Affairs, a magazine show titled “Lockdown: Food Diaries” that will tackle the various problems and setbacks suffered by the local food industry because of the corona lockdown. Alden is a perfect host for this kind of show as we all know he has a chain of Concha’s restaurants, where they serve the best kare-kare. This will start its airing on September 27.

The wholesome family sitcom “Oh My Dad” on TV5 has Ian Veneracion playing the demanding role of a father who doesn’t have an inkling he had actually sired several kids.
Written by Alpha Habon and directed by Jeffrey Jeturian, it will be produced by Atty. Jojo Alonso for Bright Light Production.
In the story, Ian is a top basketball player who becomes swellheaded at the peak of his career. But his career took a nosedive when he got involved in a scandal so he went to the US and tried other jobs for several years. He then returns to the country and stays with his dad, played by Ariel Ureta. Their neighbor is Gloria Diaz, with Dimples Romana as her niece.
Ian gets the surprise of his life when three people with different mothers show up claiming that he is their dad: Louise Abuel, Sue Ramirez and Macoy Dubs a.k.a. Auntie Julie. The inclusion of Macoy Dubs and how Ian gets to accept having a gay son will surely please the LGBT community.
Atty. Joji says the show will foster nothing but good family values and love.

The actress is outspoken, irrepressible and not afraid to speak her mind.
Angelica Panganiban chose to stay with ABS-CBN and not join colleagues who moved to TV5 to be part of a new gag show. She used to be part of “Banana Sundae” at the Kapamilya Station, but now that it’s gone, its director, Bobot Mortiz, is currently directing a new gag show with the same cast for TV5, entitled “Sunday Kada, Kada Sunday.”
Angelica didn’t leave ABS-CBN as she has two new shows. First is the soap “Walang Hanggang Paalam” with Paulo Avelino and Zanjoe Marudo, then the talk show “Ask Angelica,” which will be on their digital channels. Angelica will make a good talk show host as she’s quite outspoken and irrepressible.
One thing with Angelica, even in her social media posts, the actress is so candid and we’re sure viewers would love her being so spontaneous. She can also share her own credible insights about love as we all know she has experienced various heartaches with past boyfriends like Carlo Aquino, Derek Ramsay and John Lloyd Cruz.
In the trailer of her show, she was asked what would she do if the man she loves is in the arms of another girl. “Gusto mo bang iwan niya ang present niya o ikaw na lang ang lalayo?”
Her answer: “May iba na nga! ‘Wag kang umeepal! Lumayo ka, gawin mo kung ano ang tama. Kung may iba na, ‘wag mo nang landiin. Hindi maganda kasi, kapag meron ng iba, meron na! Hindi naman tayo mauubusan ng lalaki at saka kung hindi para sa ‘yo, hindi sa ‘yo. ‘Wag tayong taeng-tae sa lalaki. Huwag kang tatanga-tanga. Mali ang pumasok sa isang relasyon na meron kang maapakang ibang tao. Hindi ‘yun maganda at never ‘yun magiging maganda.”
