ANGEL Locsin denies all reports that she has accepted offers of the Liberal Party to run as senator in the 2022 elections.
“Hindi po totoo,” she wrote in her account. “Mag-ingat po kayo sa mga maling propaganda at huwag magpaloko. Ipinagtataka ko lang kung sino ang gumagawa nito at bakit may effort na gawin ito?”
We’re not surprised some quarters who have intentions of running in the senate are already feeling insecure of Angel because it’s obvious she has many supporters. In a survey conducted by a British firm as to who are the most admired women in the Philippines this year, it’s Angel who topped the list.
Coming after her are Catriona Gray, Sarah Geronimo, Liza Soberano and VP Leni Robredo.
This is because everyone knows of the help she has extended to needy kababayans when Taal Volcano erupted, and to victims of the pandemic, especially medical frontliners who needed personal protective equipment.
Even if she’s not doing any soap or movie, it’s obvious Angel is still hot copy as most folks continue to follow her moves. Her fans are eagerly waiting for her wedding to fiance Neil Arce. They got engaged in June last year and they announced then it will take place later this year. But plans have changed because of the pandemic.
In an interview, Neil said they’ve postponed it. “Siguro it’s going to be early next year. But everything still depends on the situation with the pandemic.”
He says that instead of a grand wedding, they might opt for an intimate one that will follow all the necessary health protocols, but nothing is sure yet.
Angel says it’s really Neil who’s more hands on with their wedding. “Ako kasi, yes or no, okay o hindi lang sa kanya. Ganun lang ako. Best decision namin to move ang wedding date para safe ang lahat.”

Benjamin Alves is happy to be acting again on cam in the ongoing episode of “I Can See You,” the intriguing mystery-romance, “The Promise.” After being in forced hiatus for six months because of the pandemic lockdown, he reveals he gained a lot of personal insights while he was away from the limelight.
“First of all, I learned how valuable time really is and we must never waste it on just the pursuit of material things,” he says. “The more important thing is to establish good connections with your loved ones, specially your family. Kung minsan kasi, ang identity natin, nakakabit sa expensive things like kung gaano kalaki ang bahay mo, kung gaano kagara ang kotse mo or gaano kamahal ang signature bag mo to measure successs. But because of the pandemic, a lot of people realized na mas important pa rin ang relationship nila with their family.”
In “The Promise,” he plays Jude, the cousin and business associate of Frank Agoncillo (Paolo Contis). Jude and his girlfriend, Ivy (Andrea Torres), visits Frank in his lakeside house in Laguna. Frank has been a recluse since his wife, Clarisse (Yasmien Kurdi), suddenly died in an unfortunate accident. Soon, Ivy starts showing some characteristics that resemble those of Frank’s dead wife and Frank naturally gets attracted to her.
Off cam, it’s an open book that after Julie Anne San Jose, Benjamin has found new romance in Chelsea Robato, with whom he’s been on for more than a year now They are also business associates in House of Roses, an online store selling fabulous Ecuadorean roses.

TV5’s new lunchtime show, “Lunch Out Loud (LOL),” will start airing on October 19, 12 noon to 2 p.m.
Produced by Johnny Manahan for BrightLight Prouductions, it will be hosted by Billy Crawford, Alex Gonzaga, KC Montero, Bayani Agbayani, K Brosas and Wacky Kiray. It will have several segments: “Lunch Out Loud,” “Quiz Universe,” “Kantrabaho,” “Color Game,” “Pera Usog,” and “Pera Mo, Sagot Ko.”
“LOL” is just one of the six shows that Brightlight Productions will be launching this October.

Of course, he got bashed for having no “utang na loob,” but he says he has to work for his family, especially now that he’s a dad after wife Coleen Garcia gave birth to their firstborn. Aside from “Lunch Out Loud,” he’s also in another new TV5 show, “The Masked Singer.”

Ai Ai delas Alas is happy to be back to work as one of the judges, along with Lani Misalucha and Christian Bautista, in “The Clash Season 3.”
“Antagal din nating nabakante because of the virus, so we’re glad back before the cameras na kami ngayon,” she said.
To promote the new season of “The Clash,” she did a special number in “All Out Sundays” doing the songs of the Korean girl band BlackPink. It went trending but some folks understandably bashed her for that.
“Huwag na silang ma-shock dahil they’ll now know me as the ‘Oppa Queen of the Philippines’,” she joked.
How does she handle negative feedback like that?
“Naku, sanay na ako sa bashers. At least, nag-trending ako, which also happened when I did BlackPink songs before sa ‘The Clash.’ Okay lang kahit pagtawanan nila ako. At least napansin ako ng fans nila. Positive thoughts and good vibes na lang.”
When bashers get so nasty, she prays. “I rebuke them, parang si satanas, rebuke agad-agad. Hindi naman ako sumasagot sa mga nega. Sa positive lang ako. Ang bashers today, kahit ano gawin mo, may masasabi pa rin sila, so maski as a judge sa ‘The Clash,’ I just practice being myself. Bahala sila sa gusto nilang sabihin.”
