MARIS Racal is so happy to be part of Cignal-TV5’s groundbreaking movie series, “Suntok sa Buwan,” that is getting very good feedback from netizens.
“I am really proud to be part of this show,” says Maris. “I get the chance to work with a legendary actor like Kuya Aga Muhlach and with one of our best young actors today, Elijah Canlas. I have gained so much from the experience of working with them.”
What’s her role? “I play Trina. Elijah and I work as vendors sa souvenir shops sa Baguio, pero magkaribal ang stalls namin so at first, we don’t see each other eye to eye. I have my own story. Ang mom ko is abroad and I’m estranged from my dad. I live with an aunt in Baguio. My plan is to take up law in college, but I have no money.”
Maris is from Tagum, Davao and was discovered eight years ago when she joined PBB All In at the age of 16. She won as second placer then Star Magic signed her up. She’s elated to now work with the Kapatid Network.
It’s common knowledge that Maris is currently in a relationship with singer Rico Blanco.
Maris herself confirmed their being on in May 2021. They have since worked together in doing several songs, like “Abot Langit,” “Not for Me” and “Asa Naman”. Maris is 24 and Rico is 49, but apparently, age doesn’t matter between them. It’s just a number.

‘It’s worth all the long wait, all the hardships, blood, sweat and tears that we put into the production of the show which was three years in the making. — Ruru Madrid’

Ruru Madrid has reason to rejoice. His action-adventure drama, “Lolong,” rules the ratings since it debuted on July 4. It hits as high as 17% plus, which is a quite a feat since the show it replaced, “First Yaya,” was also a toprater, getting a nightly rating of anywhere from 15 to 16%.
“It’s worth all the long wait, all the hardships, blood, sweat and tears that we put into the production of the show which was three years in the making,” he says. “We had a total of three lock in tapings in the wilderness of Quezon Province. Inabot kami hindi lang ng pandemic kundi ng bagyo. Para kaming OFWs na nawalay sa aming pamilya.”
But his preparation for the show started even before the actual taping. “I was already preparing months before the cameras began grinding. I had my regular gym workouts plus running, as I know I have a very physical role that shows me shirtless in a number of scenes. I also trained in boxing and mixed martial arts for the many fight scenes I’d be doing.”
He says the directors, Rommel Penesa and Conrado Peru, along with the rest of the cast and crew, should share credit and honors for the huge success of what is now the number one primetime series on local TV.
He says he will never forget “Lolong” for the rest of his life. “I know mahaba pa ang itatakbo ng career ko, but ‘Lolong’ will always have a special place in my heart. The friendships we’ve formed here will stay with us. I’m really proud of this group who showed their passion for their craft.”
Ruru is currently in Seoul, Korea taping for the reality show “Running Man” but he is keeping track of what is happening in “Lolong” every night. His co-stars in “Running Man” are all happy for him and the success of his first primetime show where he plays the title role.

Adrianna So gained many fans for her role as Pearl, the bubbly babaeng bakla and very supportive best friend of Kokoy de Santos and Elijah Canlas in the hit web series “Gameboys.” She later on had her own GL (Girls’ Love) series, “Pearl Next Door.”
Now, she gets to play the most daring role in her career as the third party in a most unusual love triangle in the Vivamax rollicking sex-comedy, “PaThirsty,” a spin off from “Gameboys.”
“I once again play my role as Pearl at kasama rin dito si Kych Minamoto of ‘Game Boys’ as Achilles, my best friend,” she says. “Both of us are brokenhearted, coming from failed relationships that we’re both trying to forget. Sa kagustuhan kong matulungan si Achilles, I will act as a matchmaker for him at hahanapan ko siya ng bagong boyfriend.”
It turns out they get an invite from Ali (Alex Diaz), a handsome hunk whose wealthy family owns the very new Sebastian Beach Resort. Alex invited them and their other vlogger friends, so they can help him promote his resort in their sites.
Ali had come out online that he is a bisexual so Pearl schemed to match him with Achilles, who succeeds in bedding Ali then gets scared as he earlier vowed he’d only go to bed with someone when they’re officially on. He tells Pearl that he and Ali are better off as friends.
Pearl then goes to bed with Ali and this makes the movie a rather complicated love triangle. “PaThirsty” is written and directed by Ivan Andrew Payawal, who also made the hit “Game Boys” series and its movie version.
