‘They warn her to be cautious of Gabby since it’s common knowledge that most of the actresses he brought to his beach house eventually became his inamorata’
SANYA Lopez rocked Instagram with her recent swimsuit pics taken at the beach resort in Batangas owned by Gabby Concepcion, her leading man in the current hit GMA primetime show, “First Yaya.”
This was taken during their rest period after three consecutive lock-in tapings for the lovable GMA romcom that has captured the hearts of many viewers.
The comments section of her social media account quickly garnered thousands of favorable remarks telling Sanya that she looks so good in her swimsuit and she’s now the certified “Sexiest Yaya.”
“Thank you po sa inyong positive comments,” Sanya tells them. “Nakakataba ng puso ang mga papuri nyo, pati sa ‘First Yaya’, salamat sa inyong panonood at pagsuporta.”
But of course, some folks quickly concluded that she since she went with Gabby to his resort, does that mean that something romantic is already brewing between them? They warn her to be cautious of Gabby since it’s common knowledge that most of the actresses he brought to his beach house eventually became his inamorata like Anjanette Abayari and Dindi Gallardo.
But someone quickly defended Sanya and said she has a chaperone when she went to the resort. This is her “First Yaya” co-star, Kakai Bautista, the ex-future girlfriend of Thai actor Mario Maurer that he says he’s not even aware of.
Sanya really feels so blessed because “First Yaya” is now the number one show on primetime. Its pilot week was a hit, always rating 20 percent and above. Not only that, the feedback of viewers as expressed in social media is all very encouraging and favorable.

Rosanna Roces is no doubt the “Pandemic Queen” of the movies. Whereas other stars are jobless, the virus has not stopped her from doing one project after another. She was just seen in “Gusto Ko Maging Pornstar” directed by Darryl Yap, then she did “Kontrabida” with Direk Adolf Alix and is now shooting “Huling Birheng Bakla sa Balat ng Lupa” with Direk Joel Lamangan.
For Darryl Yap, she has also finished “Revirginized” with Sharon Cuneta and also “Kung Pwede Lang,” a “rant” series where people can voice out their opinions and express their personal sentiments about any kind of issue, personal or otherwise.
Osang co-stars with two veteran colleagues, Dexter Doria and Dennis Padilla, and three new stars, Loren Marinas, Carlyn Ocampo and Bob Jbeili who play her three children in the movie. Direk Darryl’s works are known for its gross, irreverent humor. How does she feel when some quarters call Daryl’s humor “bastos”?
“Alam nyo, impresyon ng tao dahil sa movies niya, bastos siya at mayabang, ang content niya puro kababuyan. Pero sa totoo lang, mabuting tao siya. Ang mga magulang niya mismo ang nagsasabi, napakabait niyang anak,” says Osang. “Nang magkapera siya, ipinagawa niya agad ang bahay nila. Sabi basura raw ang movies niya, pero kumikita. Sa totoo lang, panahon niya ngayon. Kaya sa bashers niya, you cannot argue with success. Hanggang next year, fully booked na siya sa projects niya. So sabi niya, hayaan mo silang mambash, kasi ang bash equals to cash.”
She herself is known for her rants that antagonized people before. “Ever since, alam mo naman ang bunganga ko, ma-rant talaga ako, lalo na kapag hindi totoo ang sinasabi mo sa’kin. But I mellowed na in 2017, nakaka-drain kasi ng energy. The best is huwag mo na lang pansinin.”
What are her other plans now? “Balak ko sanang mag-adopt with Blessie (her partner). Nakaka-miss kasi yung may baby sa bahay. Pero ayaw niya, hintayin ko na lang daw ang magiging apo sa anak kong si Onyok, kasi at least, kadugo ko pa.”

Maja Salvador gets to play the title role in TV5’s new primetime drama, “Niña Niño,” where she plays Niña and Noel Comia plays Niño.
“When they pitched it to me, nagustuhan ko agad, there were butterflies in my stomach,” she said. “Kasi bagay na bagay ang tema nito sa mga nararanasan natin ngayon with the pandemic. Ang ganda ng konsepto, about faith, miracles and the importance ng dasal sa buhay natin. Kakaibang Maja rin ang mapapanood nila rito. Ang last teleseryes ko, paubusan ng boses dahil sa sigawan at iyakan. This is much lighter kasi balanse ang drama at comedy.”
In the story, her brother Noel dies in an accident. She prays so hard for him to recover and when he does, he got healing powers to heal the sick. Does she really believe in miracles?
“Everyday, pag gising ko pa lang sa umaga, nagpapasalamat muna ako then I pray na sana maganda mga mangyari today. Actually, ang bawat pag gising ko pa lang, isang milagro na ‘yun for me. With this teleserye, it will remind us na, kahit gaano kahirap ang buhay, don’t lose faith na hindi ka Niya pababayaan. Itong nangyayari, it’s also a reminder for us, lalo na ngayong Holy Week, kasi baka nakakalimutan na natin siya, so we have to return to Him and pray some more.”
Working with TV5 is a fresh start for her. “I really feel this is a new beginning for me. And I appreciate it na TV5-Cignal is giving me so much importance. Masaya ako sa way na tinatrato nila ako, just like sa ABS din before. I just feel so lucky na andaming taong nagtitiwala sa akin at willing sumugal sa akin. Nae-enjoy ko ‘yun. Freelancer naman ako so I can work with anyone. I don’t have a contract with any network, so dito muna ako ngayon.”
Is she and Rambo Nuñez getting married now that they’re also business partners with their own talent management company?
“Ipagdasal po natin ‘yan, kasi ang respective families namin ni Rambo, gusto nila talaga na sana nga, kami na talaga ang mag-end up together, so hinihiling ko sa sambayanan, ipag-pray sana nila ‘yon. Kasi okay na okay naman ang relasyon namin ni Rambo. We’re both very open and honest with each other.”
Aside from “Niño Niña” that airs on Easter Monday, Maja has also finished shooting a new movie titled “Arisaka.”
“It’s an action-thriller, directed by Mikhail Red, naisingit namin,” she says. “I play a policewoman who’s kidnapped and has to escape from my captors. Ewan lang kung kailan maipapalabas.”

Raymond Bagatsing is currently nominated in the coming Star Awards (for the year 2019) as best actor for his title role performance in the biopic, “Quezon’s Game,” which already won him acting honors in an international filmfest in Houston, Texas. He now gets to play another demanding role as an enigmatic doctor in a mental hospital in “Nelia,” produced by A&Q Productions.
“I quickly accepted the role when it was offered to me as it’s very intriguing,” he says. “As Dr. Ray, the viewer would think I’m a good and devoted doctor, but it will be revealed later na may surprise twist pala sa character niya and he’s not as normal as he may seem.”
Is it the first time for him to work with Winwyn Marquez who plays the title role of Nelia? “No, we did a soap on GMA-7, ‘One True Love’, but she was still very young then. Now, she’s a bit more mature, beauty queen na, so mas experienced na at bagay sa role ng Nelia.”
