‘I believe in God’s perfect timing – Kris Aquino’
MAX Collins is one of the new mommies in local showbiz. The list of first-time moms includes Anne Cutis, Solenn Heussaff and Sofia Andres. The stork was really busy lately as other actresses also delivered their second or third babies, like Camille Prats, Iya Villania, Isabel Oli, Bangs Garcia. Also pregnant now are Sheena Halili, Iwa Moto and Charee Pineda.
On Thursday, August 6, Max and Pancho Magno’s baby boy named Skye will be one month old. Delivered at their own home through water birthing, Max is breastfeeding their son and finds the whole experience of being a mom a fulfilling but challenging experience.
“But as a whole, no complaints,” she says. “It’s been very satisfying for us ni Pancho even if we are sometimes sleep deprived. Eventually, magiging regular na rin naman ang pagtulog ng baby namin. Right now, I just make sure I am careful with what I eat kasi makukuha rin niya through my milk. So no more coffee na favorite drink ko before. I just take a lot of malunggay soup para mas maging healthy siya.”
She said she does not miss acting right now.
“At this point, hindi pa masyado kasi very busy pa ako sa baby namin. At saka, wala rin namang nagte-taping ng bagong shows dahil sa lockdown, so okay lang so I can bond more with our son. Si Pancho nga, may bagong show na sinimulan, ‘First Yaya’, with Gabby Concepcion and Marian Rivera, pero nahinto and hindi pa alam kung kailan uli magre-resume.”

Kris Aquino will finally be back on TV with her new talk show, “Love Life with Kris”, on August 15, 5 p.m. on TV5. “Love Life with Kris” is produced by Positive Exposure Production and directed by Gab Valenciano. Kris will also be the creative head. They’re doing it with all the expected health protocols.
There have been attempts for Kris to do a new show before but they didn’t push through.
“I believe in God’s perfect timing,” said Kris. “We’re currently facing difficult times and the show’s concept is born out of today’s need to boost hope and courage in the lives of everyday Filipino.”
The show will have three major segments. “The first one is dedicated to the home, women and mothers,” said Kris. “We will be featuring chefs, mothers, and restaurant owners who will share with us their inspiring stories, and of course, their sumptuous dishes and recipes for sharing with the whole family.
“Another segment will feature one-on-one interviews with newsworthy people who are currently standing out in today’s headlines. The third segment is dedicated to inspire Filipinos.
“The show will focus the spotlight on individuals and organizations who are good role models for the Filipino, with their outstanding traits of resilience and optimism. People who have dedicated their lives to make a difference in this world. We aim to spread fun, laughter, hope, and inspiration across the nation.”
Aside from the main show aired live on Saturdays at TV5, the show will also have digital episodes to be shown four times a week on the show’s official Facebook page.

Bianca Umali posted her latest photo looking quite emaciated and, as may be expected, haters bashed her right away.
Although they have yet to officially admit that they’re going steady, Ruru Madrid quickly defended his inamorata. He replied to the impolite basher: “Anong problema mo, bastos? Sigurado ka dyan? Brad, katawan nya ‘yan, kung gusto nya magpapayat o magpalaki, nasa sa kanya na ‘yun, labas na ako dun at dapat ganun ka rin. Kesa ‘yung kumikilatis ka ng katawan ng ibang tao, kilatisin mong maige ‘yung sarili mo, brad. Dami nang naghihirap sa mundo, ganyan ka pa rin. Baguhin mo na ugali mo!”
Ruru expressed despair at how judgmental people have become these days. “I dont know what’s wrong with people right now? Parang ang dami laging opinyon ng mga tao. Sa totoo lang, mas masakit na kung sino pa yung mga kababayan o mga kalahi natin, sila pa yung nagda-down sa atin. Sana wala ng ganun, sana sinusuportahan na lang natin ang isa’t isa.”
But Bianca’s fans quickly defended her to show their support for her. Here are some of their encouraging comments for Bianca: “How ironic that some girls are into body positivity and boosting self esteem, and yet they are the ones who will judge and bash u. So sad for Bianca Umali, She doesn’t deserve that kind of bashing. Sabi nga, her body, her choice. Grow up kiddo, change ur mindset for the better.”

“Eat Bulaga” is currently celebrating its 41st anniversary, making it no doubt the country’s longest-running TV show. It’s no mean feat to be able to be on the air continuously for 41 years. They’ve gone through several presidents, they went through martial law, the EDSA revolution and now they’re going through the new normal amidst the worldwide pandemic.
Joey de Leon, Tito and Vic Sotto were young men when they started hosting the show. Now they’re all gray-haired and are grandfathers. At their recent reunion, they just saw each other on screen while they’re in their respective homes.
Tito says the first telecast of their show happened on July 30, which is also the International Day of Friendship. “Pero dito sa atin, araw ito ng mga Dabarkads, araw para magpasalamat sa Dabarkads all over the world sa UK, France, Italy, Singapore, Japan, UAE, Oman, USA at dito sa bansa natin, mula Batanes hanggang Jolo.”
Vic, in turn, said: “Iba ang panahon natin ngayon. Sinusubok tayo. Pero challenge accepted. Sasabayan natin ang mga Dabarkads sa pagharap sa new normal nang may tuwa, saya, pag-asa at panalangin.”
As they celebrate their 41st anniversary, they will focus on their EB scholarship program that will send students to medical schools as doctors and nurses so they can become health frontliners who can help the country in times of crisis. “We’ll help ‘yung mga board exam na lang, tapos pwede nang mag-practice at pwede nang tumulong sa panggagamot sa mga ospital sa kani-kanilang bayan at barangay.”
